Finn is a private place for the photos, documents and chats you would rather keep to yourself. There is no account, no email and no phone number: you get a random Finn ID. Your files are encrypted on your iPhone before they go anywhere, and Finn has no ads, no trackers and no analytics. Text recognition runs on your iPhone. EDIT AND REDACT • Looks, adjust, crop, markup, stickers, collage and before/after. Copy your edits and paste them onto other photos. • Redact sensitive suggests card numbers, IBANs, emails, phone numbers, addresses and faces, so you can cover them before you share. • Edits never touch your original, and you can revert at any time. VIDEO • Trim, split, change speed, mute, crop and rotate, add text and looks. Every edit is saved as a new copy. SCAN AND SHARE IN • Scan paper documents into searchable PDFs. • Share photos, videos, audio and PDFs into Finn from other apps. They are sealed straight away, even while Finn is locked. • Widgets, Shortcuts and a Control Center camera put new photos straight into the vault, also from the Lock Screen (iOS 18). CHAT • Encrypted on your phone, opened only on theirs. End-to-end encrypted with the Signal Protocol: nobody in between can read your messages. • Finn's server only passes on sealed envelopes, through anonymous mailboxes: it can't read them and doesn't learn who sent them. • No phone number, no email: just a random Finn ID. Add contacts by QR code. • Groups with @mentions, admin-only messaging and invites in person by QR code. • Voice notes, files, HD photos with location and camera details removed, replies, reactions, edit, delete for everyone, forward, pin and star. • Disappearing messages, read receipts (off by default), chat lock, folders, scheduled messages, nicknames, mute and Note to self. ON YOUR IPHONE • Transcribe voice notes and videos with on-device speech recognition. • Translate messages and web pages with Apple's on-device translation (iOS 18 or later). BROWSER • Trackers and ads are blocked. A fire button closes every tab and clears site data. • Tab grid, find in page, desktop site, text size, a start page and your choice of search engine. • Downloads go into the vault and keep going when the vault locks. LOCKS AND RECOVERY • PIN or passphrase, Face ID, auto-lock, and a flip of the phone to lock it at once. • A decoy PIN opens a separate vault. Finn records failed unlock attempts and can use a plainer app icon. • Recovery codes you write down, with optional cloud recovery for a new phone. WHAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE Encrypted copies of your vault files, an encrypted backup of your chat history, encrypted messages on their way to your contacts, and your random Finn ID.
