About SportFax

Sport, the old-fashioned way. SportFax brings live football, cricket, rugby union, NFL, Formula 1, snooker and racing to your phone in the style of Ceefax and teletext — bold colour on a black screen, page numbers, the fastext bar along the bottom. No timelines, no autoplay video, no adverts, no tracking. Just the scores, laid out the way they were before everything got noisy. Turn to a page and it's there: FOOTBALL • Live scores as they happen • Results, fixtures and league tables • A proper vidiprinter, ticking over goal by goal • Headlines from the Guardian CRICKET • Live scores, ball by ball • Fixtures, tables and results • Batting and bowling averages RUGBY UNION • Live scores from the Premiership, the URC, the Top 14 and the Champions Cup • The Six Nations, the Nations Championship and the autumn internationals • Team pages, tables and fixtures NFL • Live scores, standings and fixtures • A page for every team PLUS FORMULA 1, SNOOKER and RACING FOLLOW YOUR TEAMS • Star the clubs and countries you care about across football, cricket, rugby and NFL • Filter tables and results down to just your teams • Saved on your device — no account, no tracking AND, BECAUSE WHY NOT • Games on page 700 — QuizFax, Spot Kick, Starting XI, Darts and more, with a weekly leaderboard • Put your name on the board — set a GAME NAME and your scores show up top Tap the page number to jump straight to a page, just like typing it on the remote. Swipe, or use the coloured fastext buttons, to move around. Live pages refresh themselves. Lost signal on the train? SportFax keeps showing you the last scores it had, with the time they were from — it never leaves you staring at a blank screen. Free. No adverts. No account. No tracking. I grew up checking the football and cricket scores on Ceefax — punching in the page number and waiting for it to cycle back round. SportFax is that, rebuilt: live sport the old-fashioned way, calmer and quieter than everything else on your phone. No clutter, nothing chasing your attention. Just the scores, the way they used to be.

What’s new

Version 1.9.3 · Updated October 5, 2026

THE GAMES LOOK LIKE SPORTFAX Every game's chrome is now on the teletext palette, with the gameplay itself deliberately left alone. All seven leaderboards moved onto one shared table: tighter rows, numeric headers aligned over their numbers, no bold anywhere, and the boards now fill the page instead of stopping four rows short. BACK sits top-left on every board, where the rest of SportFax puts it. SUPERSTARS has been rebuilt. It was the one page that had never been made to match the site — its header was 15px against every other game's 22px, which is why it looked fine on a desktop and wrong on a phone. The trophy is now sized to the word beside it, LIVES sits under the tabs, and the life pips are hard-edged blocks. Teletext never had round dots. NEW: ENDZONE EIGHT A fourth predictor, covering eight games of the NFL week rather than all fifteen. SPORTFAX DAILY - Answers now reveal a full name — DAVID NUGENT, not NUGENT. Typing the surname alone is still correct and always will be. - HIGHER OR LOWER plays all ten cards instead of stopping at your first wrong call, and your streak is on screen: the pip that ended it outlined, everything after it dimmed. - CAREER PATH advances again. NEXT CLUE was re-buying the first clue and redrawing the same club, for a point. - One guess per clue now really means one. Banking clues was quietly banking guesses with it. - A picked CONNECTIONS tile now inverts rather than only changing colour, and the Daily pages lost a phantom row that was eating space at the bottom. FOOTBALL Nations League fixtures print D1 MD 3 rather than D MD 3 and order A1-A4, B1-B4, instead of reading LEAG fourteen times. An international friendly no longer shows a star and an aggregate win. A team we have no record of no longer crashes the page with no way back. ELSEWHERE F1 was printing two race weekends as one. A news headline sometimes opened a different story. The predictor opens on a week that has actually happened, cricket explains itself when the slate is quiet, and SAVE PICKS is legible.
