Garbage Day Reminder: Bin Day

Still finding yesterday's rubbish by the door? Garbage Day Reminder sends you two notifications for every collection — one the night before so you can get the bags ready, and one in the morning so you actually take them out. There's no municipality list to search through. You enter your own schedule, so it works in any city, town, or village. WHO IT'S FOR - You keep missing collection day and living with the bags until next week - You check the calendar every single time to remember which bin it is - Your schedule is complicated — every other week, or the 2nd and 4th Tuesday - You've just moved somewhere new and haven't learned the rhythm yet - You're a foreign resident in Japan and the local calendar is hard to read WHAT IT DOES Two reminders per collection Evening and morning, with separate times you can set for each type of waste. Colour-coded by category Burnable red, non-burnable blue, bottles and cans green — matching the colours on the collection poster, so you recognise it at a glance. Every recurrence pattern Weekly, every two weeks, the nth weekday of the month, fixed dates, month-end, or fully irregular. If your city does it, you can enter it. The "4th Monday" problem, solved Some places mean the fourth Monday that occurs. Others mean the Monday of the fourth week. These are different days, and most apps silently pick one. You choose — and the editor previews your next three collection dates as you set it, so you can check against your calendar before you save. Holidays and year-end Set whether collection runs on national holidays, per waste type. Exclude date ranges for New Year suspensions or any other break in service. Widgets See your next collection on the home screen and lock screen without opening the app. Month view The whole month's schedule at a glance, colour-coded. SETUP TAKES FIVE MINUTES 1. Add a waste type 2. Choose the collection pattern — the preview confirms you got it right 3. Pick your notification times No account. No sign-up. No internet connection required. PRIVACY Works entirely offline. No address, no location, no personal data leaves your device — because none of it is collected in the first place. Dark mode supported. Available in English and Japanese. ABOUT ADS The app is free, supported by ads. If you'd rather not see them, a single one-time purchase removes them permanently. No subscription. PLEASE NOTE This is not an official municipal app. You enter your own collection schedule. Check the calendar published by your local authority when setting it up.
