About VivaLingua: Call Translator
Video call someone who speaks a different language. You speak yours, they hear you in theirs, and captions appear on screen as you talk. • 41 LANGUAGES, ANY PAIR. Any two of the 41 work together: English with Turkish, Arabic with Spanish, Portuguese with Vietnamese, Italian with Russian. • 60 FREE MINUTES, NO MONTHLY FEE. New accounts get 60 minutes free. After that, buy minutes only when you need them. Minutes you buy never expire. • THEY DON'T NEED THE APP. Send a link and they join from their browser. No download, no account. Built for long-distance couples, families spread across countries, and travelers who want a real conversation. TRY IT FIRST Haven't talked to anyone yet? Try a one-minute demo with an AI that speaks another language. It never uses your minutes. ONLY THE HOST PAYS Whoever starts the call spends the minutes. The other person joins free, every time, from the app or from a browser link. Running low during a call? Buy more without hanging up. WHEN YOU MEET FACE TO FACE The same app works face to face. Show a QR code and the other person joins from their own phone's browser. Hold a button while you speak, or go hands-free and let VivaLingua pick up each turn. Up to four people at once. AI VOICE (OPTIONAL) Record 30 to 60 seconds of your voice once, and the people you talk to hear your translations in a voice that sounds like you, on calls and in person. • No extra charge: it uses the same minutes as any other call • Only your own voice: you read four words aloud while recording, so it can only be made from you, live • Listeners see an "AI Voice" label whenever it speaks, guests in a browser included • Anything the AI says can be reported from inside the app • Delete it any time in Profile • You can set it up in 40 of the 41 languages (not yet Hebrew). People listening in Bengali, Gujarati, Hebrew, Kannada, Marathi, Serbian, Thai, Traditional Chinese or Urdu hear a standard voice. AI Voice is not available in these places: China, Malaysia and South Korea; countries and regions under comprehensive US sanctions; and four US states with their own laws on voice data (Illinois, Texas, Washington and Colorado). In those places, translations use a standard voice and everything else works the same. ALSO • Live captions on screen while you talk • A standard female or male voice if you don't use AI Voice • Any Bluetooth earbuds work, or just the phone speaker • Video calls keep going with your iPhone locked or while you use another app WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING • An internet connection is required. Nothing translates offline. • Your speech is sent to the services that make translation work: Deepgram (speech to text), Google Cloud Translation (translation), and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech or ElevenLabs (the spoken translation). Video calls are carried by Daily.co. The app asks your permission first. • If you set up AI Voice, your recording goes to Deepgram, to check the four words, and to ElevenLabs, to create your voice. VivaLingua doesn't keep the recording. ElevenLabs keeps your voice model until you delete it and doesn't use it to train its AI. • Details are in our privacy policy. Languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and 27 more. What’s new
Version 1.2.1 · Updated October 16, 2026
New in VivaLingua 1.2.1: • Audio Only calls: talk without video and read the whole conversation on screen, in both languages. A new one-minute demo shows how they work. • A waiting room before calls: if the person you call isn't in the app, they get a notification, and the call starts when you're both ready. • If a call drops, wait for the other person in the waiting room instead of calling again. • If your microphone is blocked, the app shows how to fix it, and the other person sees why they can't hear you. And other improvements and fixes.
