About The Book of Questions

There is a question waiting for you this morning. Not a prompt from a database. Not something an algorithm guessed you might like. A question written for this day of the year — one of 372 — by a human being who spent a long time in the dark and came back with something worth asking. The Book of Questions is a year-long practice built from the published book of the same name: The Socratic Year of the Soul. Twelve seasons — Awakening, Purpose, Love, Creativity, Truth, Mortality, Nature, Compassion, Suffering, Wisdom, Forgiveness, Gratitude — and one question for every dawn. HOW THE PRACTICE WORKS Each morning, read the day's question. Don't answer it. Let it walk with you. In the evening, notice what the day answered. Then write. Even one honest sentence counts. It saves by itself. You will not finish this book. It will finish something in you. THE MIRROR When a season closes, the app reflects your own words back to you — the first thing you wrote, where you lingered longest, the questions that drew the most out of you — and then asks the only questions that matter: What pattern do you notice? What can you say now that you couldn't have said thirty days ago? No AI reads your journal. No summary is generated by a machine. The Mirror is made entirely of what you wrote, because the insight was always going to have to come from you. Nothing else is required for this work. A YEAR WITH AN ENDING Most journaling apps are treadmills. This one has a destination. Walk all twelve seasons and you arrive somewhere — a year of your own becoming, in your own hand, that you can export as a book. And when your year completes, the questions remain open — return to any day, any season, and keep writing. YOUR WORDS STAY YOURS • Everything you write lives on your device and in your own iCloud. Never on a server of ours — we don't have any. • No account. No sign-in. No analytics, no ads, no tracking. Nothing collected. Ever. • Lock the app with Face ID. Search every word you've written. • Export your journal as text or a PDF keepsake, any time. Your writing is never behind a paywall — subscribed or not, what you wrote is always yours to read and to keep. • The day's question waits on your home screen and lock screen with the Daily Question widget. • Gentle morning and evening reminders — the morning one carries the actual question. • Streaks that forgive. Miss a day — a week, a season — and the practice simply waits for you. No guilt, no shame, no red badges. Presence, not perfection. • One ask, ever. When your first Season's Mirror closes, Apple's small rating panel appears — once, dismissible in a tap. Your rating goes to the App Store, never to us. It is the only thing the app will ever ask of you. SEASON ONE IS FREE The first thirty-one days and your first Mirror cost nothing, with no card and no clock. If the practice becomes yours, the full year is a yearly subscription — about what the book costs, cancellable any time in your Apple Account settings — or a one-time Forever purchase. Forever means forever: nothing renews, and every new volume of questions ever published is included. Local prices are shown in the app. FROM THE BOOK Based on The Book of Questions: The Socratic Year of the Soul by Miskwa Kimiwan. The paperback and the app are two doors into the same year. For people who are done performing wellness and are ready for a space where the work is real. No guru. No pedestal. Just a candle, a question, and the honest sound of your own voice.
