What mountain is that? Point your iPhone at the skyline and Peakaboo shows nearby named summits on the live camera view with their names, elevations, and distances. Use the camera in portrait or landscape; labels adapt to the available view and stay clear of the main controls. No account is required. TERRAIN STATUS YOU CAN TRUST Where terrain coverage is available, Peakaboo checks the ground between you and a summit. If a ridge hides a peak, it is not presented as terrain-visible. If coverage is still downloading or unavailable, Peakaboo marks that status instead of claiming a clear line of sight. Known-blocked peaks are excluded; dashed labels indicate terrain visibility is unverified. A COMPASS YOU CAN TRUST Phone compasses drift — near cars, chairlifts, and metal roofs, every AR app points a little wrong. Peakaboo is honest about it: a confidence light tells you when the compass is settling, coaches the ten-second fix, and if a label still sits beside its summit, just drag it onto the right one — the whole view re-aligns instantly. PREPARE FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP Peak names and terrain for your surroundings download automatically, are validated, and remain on your phone for later use. In About, open Offline areas to select a place and save a circle of data before your trip. Keep the app open while downloading; interrupted downloads resume from validated files. After moving, your viewing range may extend beyond the saved circle. A new uncovered area needs a connection before it can be cached.
