About Monolog: One Question a Day

In a year you will be able to watch yourself today. Monolog asks you one question a day. Not a prompt to be productive about — a real question, the kind you'd want asked over a long dinner. What crossroads are you at? What don't you give yourself enough credit for? Who has had a bigger impact on you than they probably know? What have been the darkest times of your life, and how did you get through them? You answer out loud. A short video, or just your voice if you'd rather not be on camera. The recording stays on your phone. It is never uploaded. We have no copy of it, no access to it, and no ability to play it, review it, or share it. What accumulates isn't a diary of what you did. It's a record of who you were — your face, your voice, the thing that was worrying you that summer — at moments you'd otherwise have lost. HOW IT WORKS Each day there is a question waiting. You record when you're ready, watch it back, and keep it or don't. Kept entries fill a library laid out seven across, so each row reads as a week. Days you missed stay as empty outlines. Nothing is punished. DAYS LIVED, NOT DATES Monolog counts the days you have been alive rather than the date. Set your birthday and the count becomes real — day 14,612, rather than Tuesday. ASKED BEFORE When a question comes round again, the answers you gave last time appear beneath it. Not a comparison. Just you, further back. Over 250 QUESTIONS Written to be worth a minute of thinking. On family, on work, on grief, on the people who shaped you, on what you'd do with an hour and no obligations. They repeat rarely, and never soon. PRIVACY, PLAINLY Your recordings live on your phone and nowhere else. No cloud storage, no upload path, no transcription, no analysis, no training on anything you say. Audio and video entries look identical in the library by design. We keep only what runs the app — your account, the day count, which question was asked when, and the length and size of each recording. Never the recording. Export any entry. Delete your account and everything in it from inside the app. FREE, THEN ONCE The first five entries are free. After that a single payment of $20 unlocks it permanently. No subscription. No recurring charge. No trial that quietly becomes one. Contemplation Inc. www.monolog.co/terms www.monolog.co/privacy
