About Olive Shoots: Family Calendar
Helping your family bear fruit. Olive Shoots is one shared calendar for everyone in the house, with a locked kiosk for the children, points and rewards for their fruits, and a daily report for you. It runs on the devices you already own. PLEASE NOTE: Olive Shoots requires a one-time in-app purchase to use. Every feature below is unlocked by that single purchase, for your whole family, forever. No subscription, no ads, and we never sell your data. — A CALENDAR YOU ALREADY KNOW — For parents, Olive Shoots works just like the calendar built into your phone, with the same day, week, and month views and the same quick event editing. Any event can be made completable, given a point value, and included in the daily report. Color-coded categories and repeating events keep everyone's schedule straight, and any event can carry a photo or icon a child can spot at a glance. It works offline, and syncs when you reconnect. Open the app and the day is laid out: what's up next, how each child is doing, and whose birthday is coming. — YOUR OTHER CALENDARS — Connect Google Calendar, or add iCloud, Outlook and school calendars by link. Their events sit beside your family's own, in every view and on the kiosk, and stay read-only. Moving in for good? The import wizard copies one across as editable events, repeats and all. — KID KIOSK — That spare tablet in the drawer? Mount it by the kitchen door and lock it into kiosk mode. Children can check things off, and nothing else. Exiting requires the parent password, and the board returns to the home view on its own. No child accounts, no sign-ins. For a child who isn't reading yet, switch on accessibility mode: the same day as large picture cards, sized to suit. — POINTS, REWARDS & GOALS — Chores earn points. Children spend them on rewards you set, like ice cream, a movie night, or screen time priced by the minute, and you choose which they may redeem themselves. Goals work the other way round: reach a lifetime total or a streak and it's won, costing nothing. — THE DAILY REPORT — Know how the day went: a per-child rollup of what's done, what's remaining, and points earned, over the 24-hour window you choose. Missed something for a good reason? A parent can grant it late and settle the day. — FEATURES (ALL INCLUDED WITH THE ONE-TIME PURCHASE) — • Shared family calendar: day, week, month, and year views • Color-coded categories and recurring events • Completable events with point values, for chores and routines • Connect Google Calendar, iCloud, Outlook or a school calendar • Import a calendar as real, editable events • Kid Kiosk: lock any tablet into a check-it-off family board • Parent password to exit kiosk, with auto-return to home • Accessibility mode: a picture-first board for young children • Points and rewards you set, priced flat or by the minute • Goals and daily streaks, and goals cost nothing to reach • Daily report: per-child done, remaining, and points • Fruit of the Day, one word for the table • Works offline and syncs when you reconnect • Unlimited family members • Works on iPhone, iPad, and the web • Sign in with email, Google, or Apple — DON'T BUY ANOTHER SCREEN — Family display products want to sell you a screen that costs hundreds of dollars, plus a subscription, and the cheap ones pay for themselves with ads. Olive Shoots is an app: your devices, one payment. You're the customer, not the product: no ads, and we never sell your data. One payment covers your whole family, forever. Not for you? Get a full refund within 14 days, no questions asked. — PRIVACY — No ads. No third-party tracking. Your family's data is yours. Ask us to delete your account and data any time. Olive Shoots takes its name from Psalm 128, where children are like olive shoots around your table. Questions? What’s new
Version 1.2.0 · Updated September 8, 2026
A steadier kiosk, and a calendar that holds up on the awkward days. THE KIOSK • The PIN is asked for the same way everywhere, including a link you type or bookmark straight to a child's screen. Come in from the board instead and you are asked once, not twice. • The board and the day view now state one Remaining count for a child, from one list in one order. They used to disagree. • The back arrow leaves kiosk and does nothing else. FIXED • The agenda could fail on the day the clocks go back, and take the view down with it. That day behaves now, in every view. • A recurring series could lose the end date you picked, and editing one occurrence with "this and future" could drop it again. • An expired or revoked invite link left you stuck on a dead screen with no way out. • Restoring a device, or moving to a new one, now fetches your family's data fresh instead of serving whatever the backup carried. ALSO • Dates, times and numbers follow your device language, including a 24-hour clock where that is the norm. • The calendar mirrors properly in right-to-left languages. Event bars, tiles and the current-time marker all sit on their own columns. • The app opens on a finished home screen, with each child's points already in place. • Editing tags now applies to the whole series, the way assignees always have.
