About Trailmarks: The Travel Game

Free to download, with a new Daily Journey every day. The full game is a single purchase, no subscription. Trailmarks is a travel trivia game built on the real world. You answer true-or-false questions about the city you're in, collect the rewards, and put them toward a ticket out. Where you can go depends on what you can afford, what the departure board offers, and how much risk you want to take. Your score is the kilometers behind you when you run out of nerve or mood. A run usually fits one sitting, though a good one keeps going, and you can put it down and come back whenever. THE DAILY JOURNEY Every day, everyone gets the same run: the same start city, the same cards, one attempt. Some days begin where something is happening, like Syttende mai in Oslo or Diwali in Jaipur, and some change the rules. Compare your distance on the daily leaderboard. 1,000+ CITIES, REAL ROUTES São Paulo, Berlin, Nuuk, Kismaayo. Flights on the departure board are routes that actually exist, and trains run where there are tracks. Crossing an ocean means finding a port and a boat, or saving up for the airfare. 99,000 LOCAL QUESTIONS Every city has its own true/false deck covering local history, food and culture. The questions are about the place you're standing in, so you end up learning niche local facts whether you intended to or not. WHEN TO MOVE ON Each departure is its own decision. A bus is cheap but always depletes your mood. Flights vary with distance. Trains and boats mostly leave you better off than when you boarded, but come at a price. Weigh that against the fare, against how much a city is still worth to you, and against whether you'll ever get this particular route offered again. Staying is usually fine while the trivia is going your way, but a difficult run of topics is a good reason to take the first bus out. Turning down a departure isn't free either, since every declined ticket costs you a little mood. STREAKS Consecutive correct answers raise your payouts and lower your ticket prices. Get one wrong and prices climb back up. UNLOCKABLE STARTING CITIES Singapore gives you a hub with departures in every direction. Master it and harder openings unlock. Nuuk has one flight out and a handful of sea routes, which is a very different problem to solve. FULL TICKET One purchase, no subscription: 38 start cities, opened as you fly, and unlimited journeys. Bought Trailmarks before it went free? You already have it. YOUR ROUTE, MAPPED Swipe right at any point to see your journey drawn across the world map in real time. OFFLINE AND PRIVATE Every city, route, question and image is stored on the device. • No connection required, so it works mid-flight, where it belongs • No ads, no tracking, no analytics • No account to create Note: City artwork is AI-generated. Every city in the game is a real place.

What’s new

Version 1.4 · Updated October 9, 2026

Share your Daily Journey: when you finish today's journey, send your route map to friends and see how far they get. • The route map now draws trips across the Pacific properly, and long flights follow their real great-circle routes • A new opening screen: the window seat on a night flight • Fixes text that was cut off on the Japanese ticket desk Made for iPhone Duo. Open it up and your route map stands beside the deck, drawing each trip as you travel. After a run the finished route sits next to your results, and your achievements stay in view on the departures board.
