The Pulse: City Life

Pulse shows you what's happening right now at the bars near you: who's out, what's on, how long the line is, and what it's like inside. KNOW THE WAIT BEFORE YOU GO People at the bar report the wait as they walk in. A bar's page shows the current wait, how many people reported it, and how long ago, so you can tell live information from last night's at a glance. Gold means live. TAP "I'M IN LINE" AND THE WAIT GETS TIMED Standing in line? One tap starts a timer, and one more when you get inside. Your wait is measured, not guessed, and it keeps the number honest for everyone behind you. SEE WHERE IT'S BUSY RIGHT NOW Explore puts the bars that are busy right now first, with the one you're standing in at the top. Filter by neighborhood. The map glows where the night is. SEE WHERE YOUR FRIENDS ARE Friends who post from a bar or tap "I'm in tonight" show up at the top of your feed and on the map, so you know where they are before you head out. PHOTOS FROM TONIGHT, GONE IN 24 HOURS There's no permanent feed to curate. Every post leaves the feed within a day, so what you're looking at is what's happening now. Post from the bar, and it's gone by tomorrow. FIND YOUR FRIENDS AND THE PEOPLE WORTH FOLLOWING Search people by name or @handle, follow creators, and add the people you actually go out with. Friend requests, likes and comments show up in Activity. THE DETAILS YOU'D OTHERWISE CALL AHEAD FOR A bar's page has its hours, menu and what's on tonight where we have them, plus whether there's a pool table or keno. LIVE AROUND BOSTON Pulse is live in Southie, Fenway, the Seaport, Downtown, Dorchester, the North End and Quincy. Each bar was added by hand, at its real location, not scraped from a directory. More neighborhoods follow. A NOTE ON LOCATION AND CONTENT Pulse uses your location to show the bars near you and to confirm you're at the bar when you post, report a wait or time the line. That's what keeps reports honest. You can browse everything without sharing your location. Posts and comments are moderated, every post can be reported, and any user can be blocked. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings at any time. Check the Pulse. Know before you go.
