About StayTW — Taiwanese Mandarin

A Taiwan Mandarin app made by a Taiwanese person, for people who want to learn the Chinese that's actually spoken in Taiwan. Not textbook Chinese, not simplified characters — the Mandarin that works on the streets of Taipei. ■ What's inside • About 10,000 words: the full official TBCL list, levels 1–6 (the basis of the TOCFL exam), with traditional characters, Zhuyin, pinyin, translation and example sentences • 526 grammar points, including all 496 official TBCL points, each with an explanation and examples • 61 articles + 28 graded readings about real life in Taiwan: health insurance, garbage trucks, night markets, typhoon days • Everyday phrases for night markets, the MRT, renting, seeing a doctor and work • Taiwan-accent audio for words, example sentences and articles ■ How you learn • Lessons: 3 minutes, 6–8 words each. Listen, choose, build sentences, say them out loud. Missed words go straight to review • AI Chat: pick a scene (bubble tea shop, night market, clinic, flat hunting…) and a level. The AI plays the other person, gently corrects you, and every reply comes with Zhuyin and audio • Shadowing: get a pronunciation score right away, compare your own voice with the model, and slow the audio down • Listen-and-learn mode, spaced repetition (SRS), TOCFL mock exams, YouTube shadowing, writing feedback, and your own word list ■ Taiwan first No simplified characters, no mainland readings. Zhuyin and tones follow Taiwan's Ministry of Education (the TBCL word list and the MOE dictionary) — for example, 學生 and 休息 keep their full tones in Taiwan. The words are the ones you'll actually use: 健保 (health insurance), 房東 (landlord), 垃圾車 (garbage truck), 悠遊卡 (EasyCard). ■ App languages 日本語 · English · 한국어 · Tiếng Việt · Bahasa Indonesia ■ Pricing Free lessons and practice every day. Premium unlocks everything; the monthly plan comes with a 7-day free trial. Terms of Use: https://staytw.pages.dev/terms.html Privacy Policy: https://staytw.pages.dev/privacy.html
