About Dyausa

Dyausa: Vedic Sky Map Dyausa is the only iOS sky map dedicated to and built for the Vedic night sky, which includes the 27 nakṣatras, the 12 rāśis, and 108 padas as true sky regions. This app also shows the positions of Yogatārās, Vedic star names, Rāhu and Ketu. Point your device up and see the real stars, planets, and Moon with the Vedic map drawn behind them, the way Vedic astronomers and ancient ṛṣis have charted it for millennia. For stargazers, students, and the community of Vedic-astronomy enthusiasts, this is a real planetarium built on a real ephemeris and your location that speaks the Vedic sky natively. This tool will greatly benefit the Vedic astronomy community as it displays ancient mathematics on your device — a yantra for seeing, learning and discovering. What Dyausa draws: • Live crosshair readout — point anywhere and read the rāśi, nakṣatra, and pada in real time. • Yogatārā highlighting — focus any nakṣatra zone and its true anchor star or constellation lights up on the live sky: Jyeṣṭhā lights up red Antares, the heart of the scorpion; Śravaṇa lights the three stars of hearing with Altair in the middle; Kṛttikā lights the Pleiades. • Travel anywhere — search any place on Earth and see the Vedic sky exactly as it stands there, then return to your own location whenever you like. • Travel in time — move the sky forward or back to any date and watch the grahas, the Moon and the nakṣatras shift, or look ahead to a date that matters to you. • The sky divided the Vedic way — the ecliptic sliced into sectors and drawn as beams across the real stars: the 12 rāśis, the finer 27 nakṣatras, and the finest 108 padas — three ways of carving the same great circle — plus Rāhu and Ketu, the lunar nodes. • The real sky underneath — accurate stars, constellations, the Milky Way, Sun, Moon, and planets for your exact time and place. • Sanskrit or English — real Devanāgarī names, or English — your choice.

What’s new

Version 4.0 · Updated September 9, 2026

• New: tap any named star to open a Vedic tap-card — its rāśi, nakṣatra, pāda, star type, and modern astronomical details in a scrollable sheet. Every yogatārā, Vedic asterism anchor (Vyādha, Agastya, Abhijit, Dhruva), and 30+ named Latin-labeled stars across Perseus, Cygnus, Andromeda, Cassiopeia, Corvus, Draco respond to tap. • Every star on the sky now draws a soft 4-point sparkle at rest. • Explore-mode pan is now free-flow — release with momentum and the sky drifts smoothly to rest instead of dead-stopping. • Bug fixes and stability improvements.
