About Polaris: College App Community
Polaris is where students figure out college admissions together. See where you actually stand, ask the questions you would never ask out loud, and find the programs worth applying to. SEE WHERE YOU ACTUALLY STAND Chance Me places you against the class you would actually join, using each school's own Common Data Set for 500+ colleges: its acceptance rate, the middle 50% of SAT and ACT scores, the GPA distribution of enrolled students, and what the school says it weighs. Tell it how you're applying (Regular Decision, Early Action, Restrictive Early Action, Early Decision I or II) and the estimate uses the school's own early decision numbers where it publishes them. Add where your parents or siblings went to college, and Chance Me counts a family connection only at schools that say they weigh it. Enter your GPA on your school's scale, whether that's 4.0, 10 or 100. Polaris+ goes further: an AI engine reads your whole profile the way an admissions committee would, scores you criterion by criterion on that school's own rubric, and shows you the moves that raise your odds. AI THAT THINKS LIKE AN ADMISSIONS OFFICER PolarisAI is not a generic chatbot. It knows how holistic review works, remembers your profile, and answers like a counselor who has read thousands of applications: essays, school lists, test strategy, timelines. Free daily allowance included. A COMMUNITY THAT GETS IT Post your stats in a Chance Me thread and get honest feedback from students going through the same process. Follow the people worth following. Celebrate results season with people who understand what your numbers mean. 1,500+ COLLEGES, REAL DATA Every college page shows admission rates, SAT/ACT middle-50% ranges, enrollment, and tuition from official US Department of Education data. Save your list and check your chances from any college page. HUNDREDS OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND PROGRAMS Swipe through a curated deck of scholarships, free summer programs, research positions, internships, and competitions. Deadlines included, junk excluded. SAFETY BUILT IN Pseudonyms are enforced: no real names, ever. Automated filters block personal contact info before a post publishes, every photo is screened before it goes live, and every report gets human review. No tracking. Built for students 13 and older. Polaris is free. An optional Polaris+ subscription unlocks the full committee-style analysis (5 runs a day), more PolarisAI, unlimited opportunity swipes, and no ads. What’s new
Version 1.1 · Updated September 24, 2026
Chance Me now works the way admissions actually does. - Tell Chance Me how you're applying. It shows only the plans each school actually offers this year (Early Decision, Early Action, Restrictive Early Action and more), with the deadline. Where a school publishes its early decision numbers, your estimate uses them. - Add where your parents or siblings went to college. A family connection counts only at schools that say they weigh it, and Chance Me tells you which. - Enter your GPA on your school's scale: 4.0, 4.3, 5.0, 10, 100 and more. - Pick AP exams from College Board's full course list instead of typing them. - At schools that admit by major, see whether you're admitted straight into computer science, engineering or nursing, or compete again after you enroll. - When an activity could mean more than one level, Chance Me asks instead of guessing. The questions are optional. - Send feedback from Settings, with screenshots if you like. It goes straight to the team. - Tell us whether an answer helped with a thumbs up or down. - More accurate SAT ranges for schools that report section scores only.
