PourCalc

PourCalc is the bench calculator for small-batch wax work: candles first, and now balms and salves. POUR IT RIGHT Pick a vessel — travel tin, status jar, tumbler, 3-wick bowl — set how many you're making and your fragrance load, and read the wax and fragrance grams in numbers you can see from across the bench. Soy, paraffin, beeswax and coconut are built in, each with its own density. KNOW YOUR WAX'S LIMIT Every wax has a fragrance ceiling. Go over it and PourCalc warns you before you get seepage, a weak throw or a candle that burns badly. PRICE IT RIGHT Wax, fragrance, vessel and wick add up to a cost per candle; choose your margin and PourCalc suggests a retail price. BALMS AND SALVES (NEW) Keep lip balm, salve, body butter and lotion bar recipes in percent by weight — start from Bramble Berry's published lip balm or your own — and weigh a batch one ingredient at a time with the running scale reading. The label panel lists the ingredients in the FDA's order (21 CFR 701.3) with INCI names for the known waxes and butters, and states the net weight of each tin in ounces and grams (21 CFR 701.13). WORKS OFFLINE Everything is on-device. FREE · Pour calculator, fragrance-load check, cost and price per candle · Three balm recipes with every batch, the weigh-along and the label panel · Grams or ounces POURCALC PRO · Every balm and salve recipe, with every batch · Cost and a price per tin for your balms Pro is $34.99/year with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. A NOTE ON ACCURACY Pour amounts and fragrance-load limits are based on typical values, and balm recipes are weighed exactly as you enter them. Waxes, fragrances and vessels vary — test-pour and burn-test before selling, test a small balm batch first, and follow the candle-safety and cosmetic-labelling rules where you sell.
