Hanabi Finder: Japan Fireworks

Japan's fireworks season is unlike anything else in the world. 20,000 shells over the Sumida River. 40,000 over Lake Suwa. The Phoenix fireworks at Nagaoka, launched in honor of earthquake recovery. Spectacular, once-a-year events - if you know where to stand. That's the problem. Japanese fireworks festivals attract hundreds of thousands of people. Show up without a plan and you'll spend the evening staring at the back of someone's head, scrambling for the last train, or finding out the event was cancelled by rain after you already arrived. Hanabi Finder solves all of that. HIDDEN VIEWING SPOTS Every major event includes 2-4 curated viewing spots - including the Anaba (hidden spots) that locals use to avoid the main crowd. Each spot shows walking time from the nearest station, a historical crowd rating, and tips in English. LAST-TRAIN ALERTS Save an event and get a push notification 90 minutes - and again 30 minutes - before the last train leaves. Fireworks have a way of making time disappear. This one feature has saved countless post-festival scrambles. DAY-OF WEATHER FORECAST See the rain probability for every festival location before you leave home. Events with over 60% rain probability show a "Cancellation Risk: High" warning. Check it in the morning and plan accordingly. CANCELLATION POLICY AT A GLANCE Every event shows its cancellation rule: Rain OK, Cancelled in Rain, or Postponed to Next Day. No more arriving at an empty riverbank. OFFICIAL WEBSITE LINKS Every event links directly to its official website for the latest updates, paid seating tickets, and same-day cancellation notices. When in doubt, tap through to the source. LINE SHARING Coordinating a group? One tap sends your meeting spot - name, walking time, and last-train info - directly to your LINE chat. Japan's primary social coordination tool, built right in. MAP AND NEARBY EVENTS A dark-mode map shows every event across Japan. Filter by region or tap "Near Me" to find fireworks happening this weekend within 100km. 2026 EVENTS INCLUDE - Sumida River (Tokyo, Jul 25, 22,000 shells) - Tenjin Festival (Osaka, Jul 25) - Nagaoka Grand Fireworks (Niigata, Aug 2-3) - One of Japan's Big Three - Lake Biwa (Shiga, Aug 6) - Jingu Gaien (Tokyo, Aug 8) - Lake Suwa (Nagano, Aug 15, 40,000 shells) - Omagari Competition (Akita, Aug 29) - One of Japan's Big Three - Tsuchiura Competition (Ibaraki, Nov 7) - One of Japan's Big Three ...plus 72 more events from Hokkaido to Okinawa FREE AND PREMIUM (300 yen, one-time) Free: browse all 80+ events, one viewing spot per event, weather, last-train alerts, map, LINE sharing.
