RockReader

RockReader is a free daily devotional and Bible app built around one quiet habit: read Scripture, reflect on it, and share it with people you actually know. Most apps turn faith into a feed. RockReader is built the other way. Your journal is private by default. Sharing is something you choose, with a small circle you trust. There are no ads, no algorithms, and nothing engineered to keep you scrolling. READ EVERY DAY Follow a guided reading plan through the Old Testament, New Testament, and Psalms across a year, or open any passage you like. Prefer to study a theme? Pick a topical reading plan and read what Scripture actually says about it, whole passages in context. Read in seven translations: ESV, NIV, KJV, NLT, NKJV, NASB, and WEB. STUDY IT DEEPLY, FOR FREE Tap any verse for cross references, commentary and study notes (Matthew Henry, JFB, Adam Clarke, and Tyndale), original-language word study, and footnotes. Highlight verses, keep notes, and listen to passages read aloud. Go further with guided inductive study using the observation, interpretation, correlation, and application method. JOURNAL WITH THE SOAP METHOD Write down the Scripture, your observation, how it applies, and a prayer. Add free-form reflections any time. Every journal entry is encrypted and private to you. PRAY AND KEEP A PRAYER LIST Keep a private prayer list and journal, pray through it with a timer, and mark prayers answered so you can look back and remember. SHARE WITH PEOPLE YOU TRUST When you want to, share an entry or a short nugget with friends, a small group, or your wider circle. Post prayer requests, pray for others, and take a moment to actually pray with the built-in Prayer Pause. Comment, encourage, and stay connected through direct messages. ON YOUR IPHONE Sign in with Face ID or Touch ID, and lock your journal behind it, so what you write stays yours even if someone else picks up your phone. Get notifications when someone comments, prays for you, or invites you to their group. Read with no signal: your next two weeks of readings save automatically, the full King James and World English Bibles are built in, and you can download the full NIV, NLT, NKJV, or NASB. Write journal entries and sermon notes offline and they sync when you're back online. Set a reading reminder that fires on your device, not from a server. Save verse cards straight to your Photos. BUILT TO PROTECT YOUR ATTENTION, NOT SELL IT - Private by default, social by choice - Turn off public sharing entirely if you want to - No streaks to break and no missed days, only open days waiting whenever you come back - Strong encryption (AES-256) for your journal and prayers - No ads, ever - Cookie-free, privacy-first analytics - Export or delete your data any time - Light and dark themes RockReader is for anyone who wants reading Scripture to become a daily rhythm, and who would rather grow alongside a few real people than perform for a crowd. Free to download. Free to use. Read every day. Reflect on it. Share it with people you trust.
