About gymDIY: Workouts Built For You
Most workout apps hand you a program built for a gym you don't have. GymDIY starts from your equipment. Tell it what you own — or scan it with your camera — and it builds a complete training program that only prescribes what you can actually load, at weights your stack can actually reach. BUILT AROUND YOUR EQUIPMENT - Scan equipment with your camera, paste a product link, or pick from a catalog - Own something unusual? Describe it by brand and model and GymDIY works out what it can do - Knows your real limits — plate counts, weight stacks, pulley ratios, dumbbell ceilings - Never prescribes a lift you can't perform or a weight you can't load - Add a band or an attachment and your next program uses it automatically TRAINING THAT FITS YOUR LIFE - Seven goals, from strength and muscle to fat loss, mobility and athletic performance - Choose your days per week and how long you have per session - Full mesocycles with real periodization, progression and deload weeks - Tell it what bothers you and it programs around it - Travel mode: set your trip dates — including a late arrival or an early flight home — add whatever the hotel gym has, and get a shorter program just for that window. Your home program is waiting when you're back. LOG IT WITHOUT THE FRICTION - Set-by-set logging with a built-in rest timer - Mark how hard each set felt and the program responds - Swap a movement mid-workout for one your gear can actually run - Technique cues and common mistakes on the exercises that need them - Save completed workouts to Apple Health — GymDIY only writes workouts, and never reads your health data - Workout reminders, training streaks, and streak freezes for the days life gets in the way TRAINING THAT DOESN'T IGNORE THE RULES - Movement patterns matched to the day — no leg work stranded on push day - Contraindicated movements excluded by default - Weekly volume kept inside evidence-based ranges instead of piling sets on whatever muscle the plan likes best FREE FOREVER — NO SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED Full onboarding, a real generated program, unlimited workout logging, your current PRs, weekly volume, and 15 AI equipment scans a month. Not a trial that expires — a usable app you can stay on. PREMIUM - Regenerate your program any time - Unlimited equipment scans - Travel mode - Automatic weight suggestions from your logged sets - Full exercise history and trends - Weekly sets per muscle group, against the range your own program prescribes - A progressive next program built from what you actually lifted $14.99/month or $99.99/year, with a 14-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. GymDIY is a training tool, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise program. What’s new
Version 2.0.2 · Updated September 9, 2026
Cardio days now fill the session length you asked for. A 30-minute cardio workout could come back as two four-minute pieces, or run twelve minutes long. Both fixed. Choosing "Improve Cardio & Stamina" no longer hands you a barbell strength day. Muscular-endurance circuits are real resistance circuits again, not three cardio machines back to back. Cardio now saves to Apple Health as cardio. It was being recorded as traditional strength training. Describe your real machine and it replaces the generic one you picked during setup, instead of leaving two treadmills in your gym. Cardio machines are asked cardio questions — top speed, incline range — instead of "what weight is shown on the first plate?" Incline, decline and speed on hand-entered machines now reach your programming. They were being dropped, so exercises needing an incline could never be selected for you. Gym Readiness shows how many machines gymDIY knows by name versus by type, with a shortcut to fill in the rest. Regenerating a program can no longer leave the app stuck on a spinner. Replacing a machine during setup now saves correctly.
