About Amud: Zmanim, Mikvah, Davening

Zmanim for where you are, a private mikvah calendar, and what is different about today's davening. Your limud, simchas and yahrzeits, Tehillim, names to daven for, which way to face. Amud works out the Jewish day for you. It reads the date and where you are standing, and answers the questions that depend on both. No sign-in, no server, and it works with no signal. ZMANIM FOR WHERE YOU ARE Every row leads with what you DO, the zman's name beside it: earliest tallis and tefillin, last Krias Shema, last Shacharis, Mincha, earliest Maariv, shkia, nacht, candles, fasts, the end of Shabbos and Rabbeinu Tam. Choose your shitah for Alos, Misheyakir, Plag and the Magen Avraham's day, or follow your kehilla's own luach where Amud knows it: London, Manchester, Paris, Vienna and Beit Shemesh. Or ask Siri. A PRIVATE MIKVAH CALENDAR Off by default, behind one quiet row in Settings. The expected days each month and which onah, with the hours it runs; the hefsek taharah and its window; the seven clean days with morning and afternoon ticks; the mikvah night and its checklist. Record a flow by date, time and town and it works out the halachic day and onah. Already part-way through? It picks up from there. Moving from another mikvah calendar? Open the history it emails you. Reminders for every step, expecting and after-birth modes, a kallah's first-time halachos, a month view and a printable year for a rav. Anything with a machlokes says ask your rav. Let him know: share it with your husband as a small sealed card that says only what yours says, the separation nights and the mikvah night, with his own reminders. Paired once, in person, with no server and no account. WHAT IS DIFFERENT TODAY Over fifty things a year, in the order you daven them, marked SAY, SKIP or ADD in plain English with the Hebrew beside it: Tachanun, Hallel, Ya'aleh V'yavo, Al HaNisim, Mashiv HaRuach, V'sein Tal U'Matar with the exact changeover night, Sefiras HaOmer, Selichos, Hoshanos, fasts and Aneinu, Yizkor, Shabbos Mevorchim with the molad, Kiddush Levana. No shul knowledge assumed. And 100 Brachos a day, with a card to tick them off. YOUR LIMUD, AND YOUR OWN SEDER Twenty-one cycles, each tracking on its own with missed days and your siyum date: Daf Yomi, Amud Yomi, Dirshu Mishnah Berurah, Yerushalmi, Mishnah Yomi, Nach Yomi and more. Shnayim Mikra too. Or name your own seder in any of eleven sefarim and set a pace or a finishing date. TEHILLIM The seder at a kever: type the name in Hebrew and Amud lays out the kapitlach, the stanzas of 119 that spell it, Ana Hashem, Kel Malei and Kaddish, with a sheet to print. Share out the whole of Tehillim fairly between friends and send it to WhatsApp. And a choilim list, with the Yehi Ratzon worded around your names. WHICH WAY TO DAVEN, AND A MIRROR FOR THE SHEL ROSH A live compass to Har HaBayis that knows whether you are in chutz la'aretz, Eretz Yisroel or Yerushalayim. And the front camera, mirrored, with two circles for your eyes and a line between them, to check your tefillin. Nothing is stored. SIMCHAS, YAHRZEITS AND WHAT TO SAY Hebrew birthdays, bar and bas mitzvah with its parsha, anniversaries and yahrzeits, from the ordinary date you know, or from a list or file. And a Heimish guide to greetings around the year: A Gezinten Vinter once Simchas Torah is out, A Git Kvittel after Yom Kippur, shown when it applies. ALSO Chanukah lighting to your shitah, the four Purim windows, the Seder's deadlines, every Yom Tov and fast ahead. Optional reminders. The wait between meat and dairy. Widgets and Lock Screen countdowns. Ashkenaz, Sefard, Chabad and Edot HaMizrach: the nusach changes the answers, not only the spelling. A printable Shabbos and Yom Tov briefing. Tikkun Chatzos. Automatic backup to your own iCloud. PRIVATE No account, no advertising, and nothing is sent to us. Where communities genuinely differ, an item is marked minhag. Amud is an aid, not a posek. For a final ruling, ask your rov.

What’s new

Version 2.7.0 · Updated October 6, 2026

HEBREW NAMES IN HEBREW A new switch in Settings, next to your nusach. Turn it on and the names are written in Hebrew letters: the parsha, Yamim Tovim, the day's changes, your Daf Yomi and other learning, and the zmanim themselves. Everything else stays in English. Off by default. SIYUM ALERTS The Mazel Tov now comes for a real siyum only. Kitzur Shulchan Aruch celebrates the whole sefer once a year, not every siman. Mishnah Yomi celebrates each masechta, the Rambam each of its fourteen sefarim, the Mishnah Berurah each chelek, and Nach each sefer, with Trei Asar as one. The 100 days, the year and the other milestones are as before. FIXES Your own learning schedule: choosing "a finishing date" now stays chosen, and the Finish by date appears. Tehillim at the kever: the words to say on leaving are now "Ois Gepoilt Ales Gits" (אויסגעפועלט אלעס גוט).
