About Airline Architect
You start with $20 million and an empty hangar. Where you take it is up to you. Airline Architect is a deep, realistic airline-management sim. Buy or lease your fleet, open routes across a living world of real airports, hire crews, and grow a one-plane startup into a global carrier, all while the simulation never pauses. MATCH THE RIGHT AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT MARKET A genuine passenger-demand model makes route selection the whole game — a big jet on a thin route flies half-empty, and a small one leaves money on the table. Thirty-plus real-world aircraft, from short-field turboprops to the largest widebodies, each with real range, capacity, and economics. RUN A REAL OPERATION • Own your fleet — buy new, lease, or hunt the used-aircraft market. Every airframe ages, and old metal costs more to keep flying. • Crews follow real duty and rest limits — one crew can't fly forever, so staffing is a genuine decision. • Weather, mechanical failures, and crew shortages surface as live choices you resolve while every other aircraft keeps flying. The clock never stops. GO DEEP, NOT JUST WIDE • Establish hubs and build airport clubs to fortify a city, hold off competitors, and build loyalty — with a live payback view so you know if it's working. • Fund expansion with loans — or take your airline public, with a live share price, activist investors, and a board that can vote you out. • Reached the top? Scout rival carriers and acquire them — then survive the messy integration. A WORLD THAT FEELS ALIVE • 469 real airports across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific — including exotic island strips only the right aircraft can reach. • Real seasons — hurricane season, winter storms, and monsoon shape where and when disruptions strike. • A day/night line sweeps across the map, and real airport night curfews close cities to late departures — a real cost of flying there. • Rival carriers contest your most profitable routes and fly fleets true to the real world. Speed time up to 100×, watch the revenue roll in, and keep the whole network flying. Build the sky. What’s new
Version 1.14 · Updated October 13, 2026
MAINTENANCE FOR BIG FLEETS Running dozens of jets? Heavy checks no longer arrive in waves. Aircraft that join your fleet together, bought in a spree or with an airline you acquire, now come due at different times, and busy short-haul jets need a C check about once a year instead of every few months. Existing games are spread out once when you load them, and no check comes due sooner because of it. • Do a C or D check early, from 80% of its interval, at the normal price. Look for Early in Fleet ▸ Maintenance • A cover now waits for the hangar slot, so your aircraft keeps flying until then. You can also reserve a replacement that's busy now but free within a week • Fleet cards, aircraft details and the Routes panel show who covers whom, like "Covering for N3ZQ" or "Held to cover N3ZQ in ~4d" • One alert when a check comes due and one more if it goes overdue, no longer every day. "Keep flying on all" clears them at once • A heavy-check alert now opens that aircraft's options (cover, buy a replacement, or suspend the route) instead of quietly pausing the route • The maintenance list puts overdue and due checks first, and each aircraft's details show its progress toward A, C and D checks • A C check that comes due on the calendar now goes overdue like any other, so parked aircraft need their checks too MULTI-CITY LOOPS, UP TO 8 STOPS The route planner now offers the best order for your stops, a "Return the same way" button that flies a route out and back, and Undo. Loops can have up to 8 stops, up from 5. YOUR TRAINING CENTER EARNS Training centers now rent spare simulator hours to other airlines. Your own crews come first, so a fleet that fills its simulators has none to sell. See it on the Crews tab and in Finance. Also: • When you can't afford an ad campaign or loyalty push on every contested route, it now runs on as many as your cash covers, busiest first Fixes: • Aircraft in the shop were offered as cover, and picking one did nothing • "Acquire a replacement" is now always there on a heavy check • Buying a replacement now brings you back to Maintenance
