About Nucleus MDIS
Nucleus MDIS by Southern Software gives authorized law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel access to agency information and field workflows from an iPhone or iPad. Stay informed in the field • View active calls for service and incident details. • Review unit information and update your assigned unit’s status. • Use maps to view calls and available unit locations. • Search supported agency records and review authorized results. • Access agency-enabled alerts, BOLOs, security checks, and pre-plan information. Built for agency workflows Available features and information depend on your agency’s configuration, licensing, and your assigned permissions. An authorized account with a participating agency is required; this app does not provide public access to law enforcement records. Location features require permission. When enabled and configured by your agency, background location supports unit-location updates while the app is not in the foreground.
What’s new
Version 1.0.2 · Updated November 3, 2026
This update brings new map tools, faster call entry and more control for administrators. Map - Street View anywhere: press and hold the map and choose Street View here to see that spot at street level. - Hot List entries and Security Checks now show labels when you zoom in, and labels never cover calls. - The map in each detail panel now shows the same marker and label as the main map. Calls and search - Calls created from the map or from your GPS now fill in the nearest address for you to confirm. - Push to RMS waits 5 seconds with an Undo button, so a record sent by mistake is never sent. Location reporting - Where your agency uses AVL, MDIS can keep reporting your location while the app is in the background or the screen is locked. It starts only after you turn on background reporting in GPS Settings and allow background location. Your profile - Drag and zoom to frame your profile photo before saving it. For administrators - Review every invitation and import before it is sent, including permissions and device access. - Lock truck logins to the truck's own device, and choose how much call detail notifications show. - Jurisdiction admins can manage permission groups for their own jurisdictions. Fixes and refinements throughout.
