About SimDay: Play a Real Case

SimDay is thirteen real cases, cut into short acts you play one at a time. Every case is built on a published teaching case from a business school or a city-government programme. A logistics startup in Lagos. A jewellery supply chain in Nairobi. A cross-agency enforcement team in the Netherlands. A multi-agency violence-reduction team in Baltimore. Squatter housing in Hong Kong. An oil company after two disasters. A crypto exchange on its way to a fraud trial. You get the situation as the people in it had it, at the moment they had to decide. HOW A CASE WORKS A case is four or five acts. An act runs three to seven minutes and ends properly, so you can stop after any one of them and pick it up later. You read a short scene, then you are asked to act. Most acts ask you to do three or four things. There are seventeen kinds of activity. Choose the reply in a message thread. Mark every line in a report that would not survive a hearing. Drag a slider and watch named people react. Split a budget across buckets. Commit to a figure before the real one is shown. Handle messages arriving faster than you can answer them. Nothing in a case asks you to type. Every activity is a tap, a drag or a slider. WHAT YOU GET TOLD After every decision a sheet explains what that choice actually does. A wrong answer explains the mechanism instead of scolding you. There are no hearts and nothing to lose. An act ends with a score across seven competencies: judgment, integrity, analysis, execution, communication, composure, collaboration. A case ends with what the real people did, what happened afterwards, and the full citation for the source. THE OPTIONAL CARD, AND THE ONLY THING THAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE SimDay can end an act with a few sentences on how you played it, written by a language model. It is off until you turn it on. The first time it could appear, the app explains what would be sent and asks, and nothing is transmitted unless you tap Allow. You can switch it off again at any time in Settings. If you turn it on, what is sent is: the options you picked, the act's own briefing lines, the case and act titles, the subject area, the role you played, the seven competency names and the scores you earned. Those go to our server, which passes them to Anthropic and returns the text. Your name, account and history are not sent, because the app holds none of them. Nothing you type is ever sent. The case's background, what actually happened, its lessons and its sources are not sent either. Every card carries a Report this card link. EVERYTHING ELSE STAYS ON THE DEVICE No account. No sign-in. No email address. No analytics. No advertising identifier. Your scores, streak and progress live in this app and go when you delete it. WHO IT IS FOR People who would rather work a case than read about one. Students, and anyone who wants to sit inside a real decision and find out what they would have done. Free. No ads. Nothing is charged. A note on the content. The scenes and the dialogue are written for SimDay. Real quotations appear only where they are attributed. Every source is credited in full inside the app, and the cases include an industrial disaster with eleven deaths, a fraud prosecution, drug-production enforcement and violent-crime statistics, all treated as the record has them. Existing SimDay users: version 4.2 replaces the previous app. Accounts, sign-in and saved history are gone and cannot be restored. Read the What's New notes before you update.

What’s new

Version 4.2.0 · Updated September 21, 2026

SimDay 4.2 replaces the old app completely. It is not an update to what you had. Your account, sign-in and saved history are gone. They cannot be restored, and there is no sign-in in 4.2. If you want to keep the old app, do not update. What is here instead: thirteen real teaching cases from business and city government, cut into 54 short acts. Read the situation, make the calls, then find out what the real people did. Everything is on the device. No account, no analytics, nothing to sign up for. The one optional feature that uses the network asks permission first and stays off until you allow it.
