About 12 Maha
12 Maha brings the Gregorian and Punjabi Nanakshahi calendars together in one beautiful, easy-to-read app. SEE TODAY IN BOTH CALENDARS View the Gregorian date beside the Nanakshahi date in Gurmukhi and Roman script, with Punjabi numerals, the weekday, Samvat year and the start of the next Punjabi month. EXPLORE THE NANAKSHAHI MONTH Open a true month grid with Punjabi day numerals and matching Gregorian dates. Browse forward or back, tap any date for details and spot gurpurabs at a glance. FOLLOW SIKH GURPURABS See today's observance and a rolling list of upcoming Sikh days. Open any event to read thoughtful historical context in Punjabi or English and adjust the reading size for comfort. READ BARAH MAHA Read both Barah Maha compositions from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The reader opens to the pauri for the current Nanakshahi month, with Punjabi arth and English translation controls. KEEP THE DATE ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Ten widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen: today in both calendars, the month, the week ahead, the next Gurpurab and more. MAKE IT YOUR OWN Choose from four hand-drawn art styles, Bir, Mohrakashi, Jaratkari and Phulkari, in any colour, or keep the original Navy and Gold. GURPURAB REMINDERS Turn on a reminder for the evening before and the morning of each Gurpurab. Reminders stay on your phone. PRIVATE AND RELIABLE No account, advertising, analytics or tracking. Calendar calculations and bundled event data work offline. When connected, the app can refresh its public holiday data for future moveable dates.
What’s new
Version 2.0 · Updated October 6, 2026
12 Maha has a new look, and a lot more in it. A NEW LOOK Four hand-drawn art styles: Bir, Mohrakashi, Jaratkari and Phulkari. Pick any colour, or let it follow your phone's light and dark mode. One tap takes you back to the default. EASIER TO GET AROUND Today, Calendar, Barah Maha and Settings now sit on a bar at the bottom. Search the calendar by name. Choose Punjabi or English as your main language. REMINDERS Turn on reminders for Gurpurabs: the evening before, and that morning. They stay off until you switch them on. TEN WIDGETS Nine new widgets, including the month, the week ahead, the next Gurpurab and the next Shaheedi day. The widget now rolls over at midnight on its own. MORE HISTORY Ten more histories in Punjabi and English, including Vaisakhi, Maghi and Bandi Chhor Divas. A NEW ICON A sun and twelve petals, one for each month. See what each petal means in Settings. FIXES - A day could be listed twice in some time zones. - Days on which sources differ now appear on every date they are kept. - When several observances share a day, they appear in the same order everywhere. - Controls are no longer cut off at the largest text sizes. - Past dates opened from the calendar now read correctly.
