About Voca: AAC
Voca is a calm, beautiful communication companion for autistic and minimally verbal children — and the parents, carers and therapists who support them. Tap a card and Voca speaks. That's it. No clutter, no noise, no ads. MADE FOR EVERYDAY COMMUNICATION • Nearly 100 beautifully illustrated cards across Talk, Body, Feelings, Food, Activities, People and Places • Four communication stages — start with the essentials (yes, no, help) and unlock more vocabulary when your child is ready • Sentence builder — tap a few cards, then speak the whole message together • Professionally recorded card voices, with premium Apple voices as an alternative MAKE IT YOURS • Add your own cards with real family photos — camera, photo library, or online image search • Record your own voice for any card — a familiar voice can mean everything • Or generate a natural spoken voice, entirely on the device • Custom categories, favourites, and recent cards • Voice Centre: choose the voice and speech speed that suits your child BUILT FOR FAMILIES • Parent area protected by PIN • Communication history so you can see what your child has been saying • Optional touch-confirmation and haptics for children who need them • App Lock and Guided Access support for distraction-free use • Apple Watch app — send favourite cards to your child's wrist PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking — no data collected, full stop • Works completely offline; speech is generated on the device • Optional sync keeps your cards in your own private iCloud Voca is free. If it helps your family, an optional tip jar supports continued development. Let's find your voice.
What’s new
Version 1.2 · Updated September 17, 2026
Voca 1.2 makes the board feel more like your child's own and gives parents more control. • Personal touches: Voca now uses your child's name on the loading screen, in the top banner and on the lock screen, and adds a card group just for them. • Show only your cards: a new parent setting hides the built-in cards so your child sees only the cards you've made. • Rename cards: fix a card's label without having to rebuild it. • Reorder cards: drag cards into the order that suits your child. • Change a card's category: move cards between groups at any time. • Export and import boards: save the whole board, with photos and recorded voices, to a single file. Use it as a backup, or share it with school, therapists or family so your child has the same board everywhere. • Safer iCloud Sync: an older device can no longer overwrite newer cards, and photos now sync reliably between devices. • Bug fixes and performance improvements.
