About Basis: Workout & Meal Plan
Every morning, one question eats your willpower before the day begins: what should I actually do today? Basis answers it. Open the app and today's plan is already made — a workout scaled to how recovered you are, and exact meals with portions, built from foods you actually like. No dashboards to interpret. No logging marathon. Just today's plan, ready to execute. Basis is prescriptive, not another tracker. It reads your recovery, sleep, and body data from Apple Health, distills it into a single daily plan, and gets out of your way. The best session is the shortest one. WHAT YOU GET EACH MORNING • A recovery-scaled workout — sets, reps, and loads tuned to how you slept and trained, with form cues and a video demo for every movement. • Exact meals with portions — breakfast to dinner, built around foods you like, macros already balanced, with step-by-step cooking directions and a grocery list for the week. • One clear readout — today's plan and the reason behind it, in plain language. Depth is there if you want it, never forced on you. A REAL PROGRAM, NOT RANDOM WORKOUTS • Pick 2–6 training days and Basis builds your weekly split around them — rest days are planned recovery, not missed days. • Every fourth week is a deload: deliberately lighter, the way a coach programs it, so the next block hits harder. • Flag a shoulder, knee, lower-back, or wrist limitation and every exercise in the plan works around it. • Training somewhere else today? Switch your equipment for the day and the workout rebuilds instantly. A COACH FOR EVERY RUN • Run better — from your first 5K to a stronger 10K — or lift and run in one plan. Every plan carries a cardio day each week: a run, walk, ride, row, elliptical or swim, placed on a rest day. • Set each run by time or by distance. Distance targets come from the pace your own wearable has recorded, and the distance you covered is always what your Apple Watch measured. • Send any run to your Apple Watch, and find parks, tracks and loops of the right length with Apple Maps. BUILT AROUND YOU • Recovery-aware. Connect Apple Health and Basis scales each day to your real recovery, sleep, and strain — from Apple Watch, Whoop, Oura, and more, all through Health. • Meals you'll actually eat. Tell Basis the foods you love and the ones you avoid; every plate respects both. Ate off-plan? Log it as lighter, about the same, or heavier — the day stays honest. • Counts toward your rings. With your permission, finished sessions are saved back to Apple Health as real workouts. • At a glance. A Home Screen widget shows today's session and meals, and Siri answers "What's my workout today?" • Honest progress. Weight trend, body composition, adherence, streak, and per-lift records with charts — shown straight, never inflated, never guilt-tripping. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Basis runs entirely on your device. There's no account, no login, and no cloud database. Your health data stays in Apple Health on your iPhone — never sold, never shared, never used for advertising. Location is used only when you open Routes, on your device and by Apple Maps. The plan is computed on-device, so it's ready the moment you open the app. FOR THE MORNINGS YOU DON'T WANT TO THINK Basis is for people who care about their health but not about researching it — who'd rather be told exactly what to do and get on with the day. Open it once, trust the plan, go live your life. Available in English and Spanish. ——— Basis Membership is an auto-renewable subscription: $1.00 per month (U.S.; prices vary by region). Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. What’s new
Version 1.6 · Updated October 23, 2026
Basis now shows its work — and takes your day to your wrist. • A weekly review, every Sunday evening: what the week held — sessions, cardio, how you fuelled — and what changes next week, and why • "When you're not at your best": tell Basis you're sick, traveling or hurt for a few days. The plan bends around it, holds your run plan, then eases you back in on its own • Overnight signals (optional): with your permission, Basis reads your breathing rate and wrist temperature beside your HRV and resting heart rate, and tells you when a night looks different from your own usual — then lets you ease the day with one tap. It never diagnoses anything • Half-marathon and marathon plans: twelve or sixteen weeks of easy running, one steady effort and a long run that builds gradually, with a lighter week every fourth. Add your race date and Basis paces the build so it peaks just before the day, then tapers you in • A date to train for: set a 5K, a 10K, a half marathon, a marathon or any event. The last days taper, the day before and the day itself are rest days, and the week after eases back • Cycle-aware (optional): reads only the days you've already logged flow in Apple Health — read-only, nothing predicted, nothing stored. It asks how your energy is, and can ease those days if you tell it to • Ask Basis (iPhone 15 Pro or later, iOS 26, Apple Intelligence): ask why today is the way it is, what to eat, what changes next week. Answered entirely on your iPhone by Apple's on-device model, from your own plan • Apple Watch app: today's plan on your wrist, a set-by-set logger with the Digital Crown, a rest timer with haptics and your heart rate — the session lands in your plan on the phone • Spanish throughout
