Memolight for Safari

Memolight is a Safari extension that helps you remember people and text you encounter on the web by adding personal notes, short labels, and color markers. On built-in supported community sites, Memolight displays a subtle marker next to detected usernames and authors. Open a marker to view, create, or edit a note without leaving the page. Use Quick memo from the Safari toolbar or a context-menu action to open a private draft. Select text and choose This page or This site for a phrase memo, or add a note to the page itself without selecting text. Page notes reappear when you return. Website access is requested explicitly, and notes are stored only when you choose Save. New memos can include a sanitized source URL, page title, and a short surrounding text snippet, helping you remember the original context and reopen the source later. Memolight also keeps the latest 20 versions of memo-related changes, allowing you to review previous edits, restore older versions, and recover deleted memos. The management page lets you search, filter, sort, and edit saved notes, review recent changes, manage supported and custom sites, inspect local storage usage, and control synchronization and backups. Key features: - Add personal notes, short labels, and color markers - Display subtle markers next to saved usernames and authors - Quickly capture page-only or site-wide phrase memos - Add a note to a whole page and reopen it on a later visit - Preview saved notes directly on the page - Save and reopen source context for newly created memos - Review and restore up to 20 recent memo versions - Recover deleted memos or permanently remove them - Search, filter, sort, and manage saved notes - Export readable CSV files - Export and import password-protected AES-GCM encrypted backups - Optionally synchronize encrypted data through Google Drive - Use Memolight with Safari on iPhone, iPad, and Mac Optional Google Drive sync: Google Drive sync is disabled until you explicitly connect a Google account. When enabled, supported memo data is encrypted on your device before being sent directly to your hidden Google Drive app-data space. Memolight uses only the Google Drive app-data scope and cannot view or modify your normal Drive files. Sync data does not pass through a developer-operated server, and no separate Memolight account is required. Privacy: Without sync, your notes and settings remain in Safari extension storage on your device. Memolight does not sell user data, display ads, or use external analytics or tracking. Website access is used only on built-in supported sites and custom domains that you explicitly add and enable. Source context is saved only when you choose to create a memo; Memolight does not collect your general browsing history.
