About Materializr
Materializr is real parametric solid modeling on your iPad. It is built on the same industrial B-rep geometry kernel used by professional CAD packages, wrapped in a touch-first interface designed for makers. Sketch on any face or plane, pull your sketch into a solid, and keep editing any step of the history later — even after closing the project. When your part is done, export an STL and print it. Materializr is free and open source. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, no ads, no locked features, and your designs never leave your iPad. If it earns a place in your workflow, an optional Supporter tip helps keep development moving. Materializr is developed in the open under the GPLv3. Fill tool for laser engraving. In sketch mode, click or tap a closed region to fill it, and again to clear it. Fills are cosmetic: they never affect Extrude, Push/Pull or any other modeling. SVG export writes each fill as a path and DXF export puts it on a FILL layer. Exporting a sketch with fills asks whether to make them grey, so laser software can give them a different operation than the outlines. Rebindable keyboard shortcuts. Settings ▸ Navigation lists 18 shortcuts; click one and press the new combination. A combination already in use is taken from its old action. The menus, the Interactions panel and Help ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts show your bindings. Custom polygon sides. The Polygon tool has a "Custom..." entry for any side count from 3 to 128. Camera glide into a sketch. The view now eases into the sketch plane instead of jumping. Settings ▸ Navigation ▸ Animate camera moves turns it off.
