About Orisha Prayers
Orisha Prayers is a devotional companion for practitioners and students of Orisha worship across four living traditions: Lucumí (Cuban Santería), Candomblé, Trinidad Orisha, and Umbanda. Every prayer is presented three ways — in Lucumí/Yoruba, an easy phonetic pronunciation guide, and a clear English translation — so you can pray with confidence and understand every word. WHAT'S INSIDE • Oriki — praise poetry for each Orisha, verse by verse, with commentary on what each line means. • Rezos & Oraciones — Spanish devotional prayers organized by purpose: protection, love, prosperity, health, and road-opening. • Suyere & Cantos — sacred call-and-response songs with lead and chorus lines. • Moyuba — a guided, step-by-step opening invocation that honors Olodumare, your lineage, and your ancestors. • Egun & Bóveda — ancestor prayers that prompt you when to pour water and let you name your own departed. • Limpiezas — step-by-step guides to spiritual cleansings. • Diloggún — a study reference of the 16 principal signs, with patakí (narrative), reflection, and proverb. For education, not divination. KNOW YOUR ORISHAS Detailed profiles for each Orisha: their domains, colors, numbers, sacred herbs, offerings, taboos (ewó), Catholic syncretism across traditions, and the prayers tied to each. Compare how an Orisha is known from Cuba to Brazil to Trinidad. A SACRED CALENDAR Never miss a feast day. Browse the year of Orisha feast days, see today's celebration, get optional reminders, and track your ocha anniversary. A LIBRARY THAT'S YOURS Save your favorite prayers, keep a private list of your ancestors' names for your bóveda, write ritual notes, and look up terms in a Lucumí/Yoruba glossary. Everything you create stays on your device. BUILT WITH RESPECT This app is a tool for study, devotion, and daily practice. It does not replace a living godparent, and it does not include initiation secrets or ceremony interiors. For divination, initiation, or ebó, always consult a qualified olorisha or babalawo. Practices vary by house — cada casa es un mundo. FREE & SUBSCRIPTIONS Read a prayer a day for free. Subscribe to unlock the full library — additional prayers, the Moyuba stepper, cleansing and ancestor guides, notes, and the complete Diloggún study reference. • Daily devotion — $19.99/month • Morning & evening — $29.99/month • Unlimited (Aché) — $39.99/month Each plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You can also unlock a single prayer for $0.99. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage or cancel anytime in your device's Subscriptions settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. What’s new
Version 1.2 · Updated August 8, 2026
A candle now burns with you. Open any prayer and you'll find a lit candle at the foot of the page. It stays with you as you read, burning down as you move through the verses — a companion to the candle you light in person, never a replacement for it. Your screen stays awake while you pray, so you can set the phone down. Also in this update: • Time to prepare — feast day reminders now reach you three days ahead, not just on the morning of, so there's time to buy the offerings and cook. You can turn this off in Settings. • Text size — tap "A" in any prayer to move between three reading sizes, in Lucumí, phonetic, or English. • Share a prayer — send an Oriki, a rezo or a feast day to someone who needs it. • Orisha profiles — Eleggua, Ogún, Obatalá, Yemayá, Oshún, Shangó, Oyá and Babalú Ayé now each carry their own salute, caminos, offerings and syncretism. Where a profile is still being written, we say so plainly rather than fill it with another Orisha's material. Caminos and offerings vary between houses — your elders' word governs over anything here. Maferefún.
