About Sterling: Local Hubs & Places

Sterling is the social network built around places. Every place in the world already has a hub inside the app. Open one near you, or open one on the other side of the map, and you step into that area: a live feed, groups tied to the place, and a space to connect with the people who are actually there. Hubs come with Sterling, mapped to real places everywhere. A neighborhood. A city. A venue. A street. Tap it, and you are inside. WHY STERLING EXISTS Most social apps start with a profile and hope a place appears later. Sterling starts with the place. The feed you see belongs to that area. The groups belong to that area. The people you meet are in that area — locals, visitors, anyone who opened the same hub. If you just moved, you should not need six group chats and a lucky follow to learn a city. If you are traveling, you should not have to guess which listicle is still true. If you already live there, you should be able to see what is happening around you without scrolling past strangers from everywhere else. WHAT YOU FIND IN A HUB Feed See what people are posting, asking, and sharing in that place. Not a global algorithm. The conversation of that area, right now. Groups Find groups that belong to the hub. Interests, hangouts, questions, scenes — the things that only make sense because they are tied to a real location. People A spot to connect with people in that area. Talk to locals. Meet someone visiting. Ask what is good tonight. Share what you know. The map Open the map, see hubs around you, and tap into any place in the world. Nearby first. Anywhere next. HOW PEOPLE USE STERLING Around you Explore hubs in your area. See what is going on tonight. Find a group. Ask a question only someone nearby can answer. Stay close to the place you actually live. New in town Just landed in a city. Open the hub for that place and get the local picture: the feed, the groups, the people already there. Skip the weeks of feeling invisible. Traveling Before you go, or while you are on the ground, open the hub for where you are headed. Talk to people who live there. Find what is actually happening, not what a brochure promised. From anywhere You do not have to be standing in a place to open its hub. Explore communities around the world. Stay close to a neighborhood you left. Get to know a city before you move. WHO STERLING IS FOR People who want social media to feel like a place again. People looking for groups and things happening nearby. People who want to meet locals, not collect followers. Travelers who want the ground truth of a city. Anyone tired of a feed that has nothing to do with where they are. WHAT STERLING IS NOT It is not another infinite For You page. It is not a dating app wearing a map. It is not a check-in sticker with no community behind it. It is not a directory of businesses pretending to be social. It is a social network of places. Hubs first. People inside them. A TYPICAL MINUTE IN THE APP You open Sterling. The map shows hubs around your area. You tap the one for your neighborhood. The feed has a question about tonight, a photo from the park, a group meeting up this weekend. You join the group. You answer someone visiting from out of town. That is the loop: place, feed, groups, people. Or you search a city you have never seen. Same hub. Same three things inside. Different streets, different locals, same way in. GET STARTED 1.Open Sterling. 2.Look at the map, or search a place. 3.Step into the hub. 4.Read the feed. Join a group. Connect with people in that area. Places already exist. Sterling gives each one a living room. Sterling is free to join and available on iPhone. Local hubs. Global places. Real people in the area. https://sterlingtheapp.com/terms
