WHAT ARE BITCOIN PUZZLES? The Bitcoin Puzzles are a public mathematical challenge created in 2015. Each puzzle is a Bitcoin address holding a real BTC reward, solvable only by finding its private key within a known numeric range. They are an open experiment in cryptography and number theory — anyone can attempt them. HOW IT WORKS Cacatoid uses a native C++ engine built on the secp256k1 library — the same library used by Bitcoin itself. For each candidate key, the app derives the public key, computes the Hash160, encodes it in Base58Check, and compares it against the target address. All computation happens on-device.
