What’s new
Version 2.5.0 · Updated October 28, 2026
AudioSilo 2.5 lets you read as well as listen. • Read the ebook: when a book on your server has its EPUB beside the audio, open it right in the app. Turn pages with a tap or a swipe, jump to a chapter from Contents, and make the text larger or smaller • Your reading place follows you between the app and the web player, on every device you use. If another device read further, the app asks whether to jump there or stay where you are • Downloaded books take their ebook with them, so you can read with no connection. Pages you read offline sync when you're back • Reading and listening keep separate places, so one never moves the other • Books in .mka files (MP3 inside) now play and download • Book folders your server hasn't scanned yet open as books in Folders, marked "Not scanned yet", and play straight away Also in this update: • Clearer sign-in messages: a wrong name or password, an invite code that's used up or expired, or how long to wait after too many tries • The app asks before removing a server, and says what goes with it • When a server is down, the app names it ("My server isn't answering") instead of just saying offline • A link to a book that isn't on your server says so, with Back and Home, instead of spinning • An admin signing in to a new, empty server is pointed to the setup in the admin console • Download progress includes the ebook, and downloading again right after a cancel now works • An episode's title shows once in the player bar, and a book that fails to start keeps your place and says why • On phones, Add to collection is in the book page's More menu, so Download fits • "2 days ago" and other times follow the app's language • Scrubbing near the end of a short book lands where you'd expect • Check for new episodes waits until your server has checked the show Reading and .mka books need AudioSilo server 2.5 or later. The ebook must be an EPUB without DRM.
