Tarlo: Food Scanner & Swaps

Point your camera at any grocery barcode. Tarlo tells you in seconds whether it fits the rules YOU chose — and when it doesn't, shows better options and where to find them. YOUR RULES, NOT A SCORE Other scanners grade every product with their own universal score. Tarlo doesn't grade. You pick what to avoid — synthetic dyes, high-fructose corn syrup, seed oils, artificial sweeteners, nitrates, BHA/BHT, or high sodium and sugar by Health Canada's front-of-package thresholds — and every scan is checked against exactly that. Same product, two shoppers, two different verdicts. Because your cart is yours. SCAN. VERDICT. SWAP. - Instant verdict with the exact reason: the ingredient found, the percent daily value measured - Full ingredient list with flagged items highlighted - Alternatives that actually pass your rules — some confirmed on the shelf by other shoppers PRICES FROM REAL SHOPPERS - See price estimates and recently-seen shelf prices before you reach the till - Shoppers confirm prices in store, so the data gets sharper every week - The more shoppers join, the closer you get to spotting the cheapest option nearby MISSING LABEL DATA? FIX IT IN SECONDS If a product's label isn't in the database yet, snap the back of the pack. Tarlo reads it and finishes your verdict on the spot — and after automatic checks, the next shopper benefits too. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - No account, no email, no name - No ads, no advertising ID, no background tracking - Location only while you use the app, only to power in-store features BUILT FOR CANADA FIRST Bilingual labels, Health Canada thresholds, and a growing layer of store-verified data — downloadable worldwide. Tarlo is informational, not medical advice — always verify the package label. Product data from public sources including Open Food Facts (ODbL).
