UGov Authenticator

UGov Authenticator is the official identity and sign-in app for accessing UGOV digital services in Uganda. Prove who you are once, then approve every future login from your phone — no passwords, no shared codes, no hassle. SECURE DIGITAL IDENTITY Create your account using your Ugandan National ID. The app reads your ID document and confirms it belongs to you with a quick, guided face check — so only you can register your identity. LIVENESS-VERIFIED FACE CHECK Our face verification asks you to complete simple, randomized actions to confirm a real, live person is present. This protects your identity against photos, screen replays, and impersonation. PASSWORDLESS SIGN-IN Once registered, you no longer type passwords. When you sign in to a UGOV service, a request appears on your phone — review it and approve or decline with a tap. Your identity stays on your device. DEVICE-BOUND PROTECTION Your credentials are tied to your device and protected by a personal security PIN and your phone's biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID). Even if someone knows your details, they can't approve a sign-in without your device. ACCOUNT RECOVERY YOU CONTROL Lost or changed your phone? Recover your account safely using your National ID, phone number verification, a face check, and your security PIN — putting you back in control without exposing your identity to anyone else. KEY FEATURES • Register your identity with your National ID • Guided document scan and live face verification • Phone number verification via one-time code • Approve or decline sign-in requests in real time • Personal security PIN + biometric unlock • Secure, self-service account recovery • Available in English, Arabic, and Swahili PRIVACY FIRST Your sensitive identity data and credentials are protected and remain under your control on your device. The app requests only the permissions it needs — camera for ID and face verification, and notifications for sign-in requests. UGov Authenticator gives you one trusted key to government services — simple for you, secure by design.
