About CanvassLocal

Win your local race without party infrastructure. CanvassLocal is the field platform for down-ballot campaigns — a mobile-first, door-to-door canvassing tool built for independent, nonpartisan, and third-party candidates running for local office. It gives grassroots campaigns the capability that big-money operations buy from enterprise vendors, in a tool a first-time volunteer can pick up at the curb. KNOCK THE RIGHT DOORS Import the voter file your county clerk already sends, cut turf on a map, and route volunteers to the highest-value doors first. No backtracking, no guesswork. WORKS AT THE DOOR — EVEN WITH NO SIGNAL The field has dead zones, so CanvassLocal is offline-first. Knock, record how each voter is leaning, add notes, and navigate turf with zero bars. Everything syncs the moment you're back online — no lost doors, no duplicate work. SEE THE RACE MOVE Every recorded conversation updates turf-by-turf support and your live win probability, so a volunteer sees their effort matter and a candidate watches the odds change with each shift. Honest numbers, never inflated. BUILT FOR VOLUNTEERS, NOT CONSULTANTS One primary task per screen, big touch targets for one-handed use in bright sun, and an interface that needs no training. Power lives under a surface a first-timer can use. RUN YOUR TEAM Invite volunteers with a join code, assign territory, and track coverage in real time. NONPARTISAN BY DESIGN CanvassLocal is built for local races and works the same for every campaign — no party machine, no insider playbook, no budget required. CanvassLocal is free to download. A campaign account is required to sign in; create one in the app or join an existing campaign with an invite code. Questions? Visit canvasslocal.com/support.

What’s new

Version 1.3.0 · Updated September 15, 2026

Your walk list is now a real route. • Routes built on the dashboard now arrive as an actual walking route — door to door, in order, drawn on the map. Previously a routed turf showed every voter in the campaign with the routed doors floated to the top. • Turfs your campaign hasn't routed yet get routed on your phone, offline, so you're never handed an alphabetical list at the door. • Fixed a crash that could close the app while you were panning and zooming the map mid-shift. • Doors added to a turf after it was routed now stay in your shift instead of disappearing partway through the walk. • Pull to refresh on Walk Lists now fetches routes on their own, and your own "nearest door from here" reroute sticks until the campaign regenerates the route.
