About Beatmonster

[PRACTISING EVERY DAY IS THE HARD PART] You already own a metronome. You already own a tuner. The thing that actually breaks down is showing up every day. BeatMonster makes practice time something you can see — the longer you practise with the metronome running, the bigger your dinosaur gets. ◆ PRACTISE WITH THE METRONOME, YOUR DINO GROWS ◆ Pick a dinosaur as your practice buddy. It grows on your practice time: egg, baby, growing, grown — four stages. The 20 minutes you put in today don't vanish. They live in your buddy. ◆ TEN MINUTES A DAY UNLOCKS YOUR CHECK-IN ◆ Practise 10 minutes to unlock today's check-in, and the day streak builds up. Every check-in cracks your egg a little; five check-ins hatch a new buddy. Miss a day and the streak starts over — that's what keeps you picking the instrument up. Set a daily reminder time and your phone nudges you, so you never break the streak just by forgetting. ◆ TWELVE DINOSAURS, ALL EARNED ◆ Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Raptor, Pteranodon, T-Rex and more — twelve in total. Duplicates unlock alternate colours, and there are rare shiny variants. The Dex shows how far you've raised each one. ◆ A METRONOME THAT DOESN'T DRIFT ◆ Every beat is scheduled against the device's hardware clock, so a two-hour session stays dead on. • 40-240 BPM, with Tap Tempo • Time signatures: 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, 7/8 • Eighths, triplets and 16ths • Accent, normal, soft or mute on each individual beat • Four click tones, plus a visual beat light • Tempo Trainer: +1 BPM every few bars, to work a hard passage up to speed ◆ KEEP IT RUNNING WHILE YOU READ THE CHART ◆ Switch to a PDF score or a backing track and the metronome keeps going, mixed with your other audio. It still sounds with the ringer switch off — when you're practising, you need to hear it. Pull your headphones out and it stops instantly, so it never blares from the speaker. ◆ TUNER BUILT IN ◆ No second app. Guitar, bass, ukulele and strings all work, and the low E string won't get read an octave high. ◆ NEVER STUCK ON HOW IT WORKS ◆ There's a "?" beside each of the six main features. Tap it and it tells you what that one does. ◆ A CLEAN PLACE TO PRACTISE ◆ No account to create, no ads, and your practice history stays on your device. Pick up your instrument and play. Your first dinosaur is waiting in its egg.

Version 1.0.4 · Updated October 16, 2026

Added a daily practice reminder — turn it on from the Check-in tab and pick a time; BeatMonster nudges you every day. Added in-app help — tap the "?" in the top-right corner of any screen and every control on that page explains what it does. Fixed blurry cat sprites in the collection — the pixel art is sharp again.
