About Sofra: Lebanese Syrian Recipes
The table remembers. Sofra is a collection of 214 Lebanese and Syrian home recipes — the dishes families actually cook, gathered from Beirut and the Idlib countryside, told the way they're made at home. The Free Collection — 112 recipes — is free for everyone. No account, no ads. Sofra honors two kitchens distinctly: the Lebanese cuisine of Beirut, the coast and the mountains, and the Syrian cooking of the Idlib countryside — 49 recipes from Idlib alone, the first dedicated English collection from that table. Each dish carries its region, its Arabic name, and its story. COOK WITH IT • Cook Mode — step-by-step, built for messy hands • Hands-free narration on all 214 recipes — in English, Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese • Ask Sofra — a cooking assistant you can ask mid-recipe • Grocery lists, ingredient ordering for delivery, and a weekly meal plan • Oud music by Charbel Rouhana, recorded for this app, if you'd like it while you browse THE TABLE Labneh with za'atar. Tabbouleh the way the mountains make it. Kibbeh in its many forms — grilled, in the pan, in yogurt. Fatteh, mujadara, sheikh mahshi, knafeh. Dishes from the sea, the Bekaa, the south, and the Idlib countryside. MEMBERSHIP (optional) The Free Collection is free for everyone, always. Membership opens the Complete Table — every recipe in the collection, and every new dish added to it — with unlimited narration and cooking-assistant questions. Up to half of every membership goes directly to Faten's family. From Faten's kitchen, Idlib. From Beirut, with everything it remembers. What’s new
Version 1.1.23 · Updated August 26, 2026
Faten is now credited for the forty-nine Idlib recipes, and Lebanese dishes are credited to the Lebanese Heritage Kitchen. The app had been crediting one kitchen for both. Portuguese recipe titles now read in Portuguese on every screen, not only on the recipe page. Arabic titles render the hamza correctly in the heaviest weight, and the About page spacing is fixed. Two onboarding labels now speak in your language with VoiceOver. We also removed a mention of offline access the app does not offer.
