Urbex Buddies is a community app for urban exploring. Discover lost places and other urbex spots, plan trips, save lists, keep a logbook, and stay connected with other explorers. The app includes an interactive map, offline support, favorites, public profiles, groups, chats, blog and feed content, plus Explore Together for shared planning with a shared session map. Premium unlocks additional options such as extended map access, fewer limits, and more convenience features. You can use the map, places and magazine without an account; favorites, lists, logbook, offline packages and community features need a free account. A lot has changed since 1.2.0: a tidier Auto Mode, use on the go without a connection, Siri and Apple Intelligence, and an easier start. - Auto Mode rethought: a list sorted by distance shows places nearby or on your course, and the controls are much calmer. Start route guidance from the place details. - The map follows you reliably, even while zooming. “Course up” uses the compass on foot, and the lines to places are attached directly to your location. - Offline on the go: without a connection, Auto Mode shows places from downloaded regions and the map cache. Saved places open offline, and region downloads can be paused and resumed after a restart. - A leaner Live Activity with the nearest place, direction, distance and arrival time. - Ariadne’s thread now lives in the place details; Auto Mode voice announcements have been removed. - Siri and Shortcuts: find places, lists and logbook entries, open search and plan tours – by voice, too. - With Apple Intelligence on supported devices: on-device logbook drafts and “Scout a spot” to find places at your location and submit new ones. From iOS 27 also with photos and image recognition – the new “Siri & Apple Intelligence” help page explains it all. - Community: country flags next to display names, delete your own short posts and replies in the feed, and tidier group chats, lists and place details. - Photos: smooth swiping through galleries and a full-screen view for logbook images. “Create from photos” loads originals from iCloud and shows the city. - Place descriptions: source links are now tappable with short labels, and long texts start collapsed and can be expanded. - An easier start: a reworked sign-in and guest view, sign in with Discord, and safety notes from the start. Change your interests and home region anytime in Settings. - Clearer: better explanations for permissions and for progress, XP, credits and daily limits. - More reliable: places and comments are sent without duplicates, photos are uploaded without location metadata, plus many more fixes.
