About Tov - Kosher Products France
Tov tells you in seconds whether a product is kosher in French stores — even offline. • Scan a barcode or photograph the packaging: analysis happens on your iPhone. • Search by brand or product name — typo-tolerant. • Browse by aisle: drinks, dairy, chocolate, frozen, baby… Tov merges the Beth Din of Paris (Consistoire) and Rav Wolff lists: 2,700+ products, each tagged with its source(s). Follow one list only? Pick it and verdicts adapt. When the two authorities disagree, Tov shows it clearly. Fully offline: the whole database ships inside the app, including the complete official lists as PDFs. Disclaimer: data is extracted automatically from the official lists and may contain errors. When in doubt, always refer to the lists published by the rabbinic authorities.
What’s new
Version 1.2 · Updated August 12, 2026
• Offline scanning: barcodes of listed products ship inside the app — the verdict appears even with no signal, deep inside the store. • Exact identification: the barcode first identifies the precise product (name, brand), then checks it against the lists. No more mix-ups between similar products — when in doubt, Tov shows you the recognized product and nearby entries, never an unguaranteed verdict. • Home Screen widget: launch the scanner with one tap, in the app's colors. • The Scan tab reopens the camera at any time, wherever you are in the app.
