About Tug of Nums
Can you out-math your opponent? Tug of Nums is a strategic math puzzle game where you and an AI opponent battle over a single shared number. Each player has a secret target — use your cards to push the number toward yours before the AI reaches theirs! HOW TO PLAY - Both players share one number on the board - Draw a card, then play an operator card (+, −, ×, ÷) with a number card to move the shared number - Land the shared number exactly on your secret target to win - The AI is trying to do the same — block it, outmaneuver it, and win! FEATURES - 100 handcrafted levels with increasing difficulty - Strategic card system with number cards, operator cards, and chaos cards - Chaos cards including Mirror, Anchor, Shuffle, Sabotage, and Rebound - AI opponent that adapts and fights back - Three difficulty settings, plus a Relaxed Mode with no turn timer - Clean, satisfying gameplay in 2–5 minutes per level - Fully offline — no internet, no accounts, no ads, no data collected - Free to play PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE Start with simple addition and subtraction, then unlock powerful new operators like Square and Square Root. As you advance, chaos cards enter the mix — flip the shared number negative with Mirror, skip the AI's turn with Anchor, or force the AI to discard its best card with Sabotage. With 100 levels spanning easy arithmetic to mind-bending strategy, Tug of Nums grows with you. Perfect for puzzle lovers, math enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys a good mental challenge.
What’s new
Version 1.1.0 · Updated September 16, 2026
Tug of Nums 1.1 is a big update: • Draw your own card. Your card waits face-down at the start of every turn — tap the pile to reveal it. • Chaos cards now cut both ways. Anchor, Sabotage, Shuffle, Mirror and Rebound work against whoever didn't play them, and the game tells you exactly what the AI did. • Fixed a bug where the AI could nudge the number by one without playing a card, and one where it hurt itself with its own chaos cards. • Levels 1–10 are now a real tutorial: operators arrive one by one and the AI takes it easy. • All 100 levels rebalanced, with a smoother timer curve (never below 15 seconds). • New home screen, a level map with ten named chapters, and a built-in How to Play guide. • Coin-flip animation when a division or root gets rounded. √ of a negative number now keeps the sign. • Your progress carries over from 1.0.
