Icebreaker.

Welcome to Iceland. A country that is expensive, tough to navigate, and full of tourist traps. The best places aren't on TripAdvisor. They're in the heads of people who actually live here. Icebreaker puts all of that in one app. From arrival to adventure. Built by The Tourist Trapp, a software team with a mutual passion for creating outstanding experiences. Illustrated by Hugleikur Dagsson, Iceland's most famous and beloved cartoonist. Carefully curated by The Reykjavík Grapevine, the publication locals (as well as tourists) have used for over twenty years to find what's actually worth doing in Iceland. Now's your chance to actually experience Iceland. WHAT'S INSIDE Live map of everywhere good Activities, restaurants, bars, cafés, swimming pools, museums, shops. All curated by people who actually live here, plotted on one clean map. Filter by tag. Save favourites. What's happening? Concerts, art, comedy, theatre, talks, kids-friendly events. See what, where and when! Happy Hour radar Pubs in Reykjavík compete on happy hour windows like sports. The map shows which bars are deal-on right now (with a live countdown until they close) and which ones open theirs in the next hour. No more paying full price by accident. Cheap Eats radar Where to get bang-for-the-buck meals? Built for tight wallets, not Michelin lists. Currency calculator that follows you Punch in any ISK amount and see it in your home currency. Tap a "How expensive is stuff?" card to fill the calculator instantly. Your chosen currency travels with you. Get around One screen for airport transfers, scooters, taxis, car rentals, parking zones, road conditions, and strange local road signs that could save your life. Pools, cinemas, museums, design shops The classics, organised so you can find them on a tired day. Weird Icelandic phrases Daily sayings tourists won't have heard. "The raisin at the end of the hot dog." "To pee in your own shoe." Useful at parties, useless in conversation. Honest local weather Iceland weather doesn't behave like other weather. Ours adapts. Grapevine pickup spots Find the nearest physical copy of The Reykjavík Grapevine. You won't regret it. Download your local Icelandic friend! Have fun. Don't die.
