Aquascape: Planted Tank Calc

Free to download. Try every Pro feature free for 48 hours, then unlock for life with a one-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account. Works offline. Aquascape is the iOS planted-aquarium fertilizer dosing calculator. Pick a methodology — Estimative Index, PPS-Pro, or PMDD — choose a tank type, enter your tank's volume, and Aquascape computes a per-salt weekly schedule plus a Today card that shows what to dose right now. The Moon Dog wedge for Aquascape is brand-aware liquid dosing on top of methodology. Pick Seachem Flourish, NilocG Thrive, or 2HR APT and the Liquid Dose screen scales each SKU's manufacturer-label rate to your tank's volume — with shrimp-safe gating that removes Flourish Excel from shrimp tanks because glutaraldehyde stresses inverts. Every dose recommendation cites its source URL inline. Features • EI (Standard, Daily, Low Light / Weekly), PPS-Pro, and PMDD — methodology recipes from Tom Barr, ChrisCowAU/Edward, and Sears & Conlin • Per-salt weekly schedule: KNO₃, KH₂PO₄, K₂SO₄, MgSO₄, CSM+B with Mon/Wed/Fri macros and Tue/Thu/Sat traces • Liquid Dose by Brand: Seachem Flourish (7 SKUs), NilocG Thrive (4 SKUs), 2HR APT (APT 1, APT 3, APT e) — scaled to tank volume, methodology-filtered, source URL cited • CO₂ estimator: pH + KH → ppm with six colored safety zones (too-low, low-normal, target 25–35 ppm, high-normal, warning >40 ppm, danger >60 ppm) and plain-English advice for each band • GH/KH remineralization: Seachem Equilibrium, Salty Shrimp GH+, Salty Shrimp GH/KH+ — grams to dose, plus shrimp species ranges (Neocaridina, Caridina, Sulawesi) for shrimp tanks • Multi-tank: track a nano, a display tank, and a shrimp tank in parallel — each with its own methodology, volume, units, and dosing history • Dose history: one-tap log per day, swipe-to-delete, grouped by day • High-tech or shrimp tank type — shrimp tanks gate Excel-class products and surface species GH/KH ranges • Liter or US-gallon units, switchable per tank • Universal app for iPhone and iPad For planted-tank hobbyists running EI, PPS-Pro, or PMDD with dry salts or brand-aware liquid bottles. The audience is r/PlantedTank, Barr Report, and the broader UKAPS / 2HR Aquarist / RotalaButterfly readership — anyone who's been pasting numbers into a web calculator and wants an iOS-native tool that runs on a plane. Free to download and dose one tank with the full methodology dry-salt engine. Aquascape Pro — a one-time $6.99 unlock, free to try for 48 hours — adds Liquid Dose by Brand, the CO₂ estimator, GH/KH tools, unlimited tanks, and dose history. No subscription, no ads, no account, no cloud sync. Privacy: Aquascape collects nothing. No analytics, no accounts, no network requests. Your tanks, methodologies, brand selections, and dose history live on your device via SwiftData. Brand dose tables and methodology recipes are bundled at install time and never touch the network either. Methodology sources cited in-app: Tom Barr (Estimative Index, Barr Report Forum), ChrisCowAU and Edward (PPS-Pro original recipe), Sears & Conlin 1996 (Poor Man's Dosing Drops). Brand sources cited in-app: Seachem's per-SKU dosing labels, NilocG's published dosing-information page, 2HR Aquarist's APT methodology FAQ. Chemistry sources: Chuck Gadd's pH/KH/CO₂ table, Seachem's Equilibrium label, Salty Shrimp's GH+ / GH/KH+ labels. Planted-aquarium nutrient targets are hobbyist-canonical. No peer-reviewed publications were used; targets follow the methodology authors and brand label rates. The CO₂ estimator assumes carbonate buffering is the only contributor to pH — if you dose phosphate buffers, run Indian almond leaves or peat, or have soft acidic source water, the estimate will overstate actual CO₂.
