Ink & Verse: Chinese Poetry

Read the great poems of classical China — in the original, with clear English beside every line of meaning. Ink & Verse brings together the Three Hundred Tang Poems and the Three Hundred Song Lyrics: more than 600 works by Li Bai, Du Fu, Wang Wei, Su Shi, Li Qingzhao, Xin Qiji and many more. Each poem opens as a quiet page of ink and paper, with an English title, a modern translation and commentary that explains the imagery, history and feeling behind the words. POEM OF THE DAY A new poem waits on the home screen each day. Read it over coffee, or tap Random for something unexpected. TRANSLATION AND COMMENTARY See the original Chinese text next to an English translation, then read commentary on what the poet saw, when it was written and why the lines still matter.
