About Mahjboard

Mahjboard runs the busywork of your mahjong league—table seating, session pacing, scorekeeping, and standings—so you can run the league, not the spreadsheet. It's simple on purpose: one score per player, one link for the entire season, zero formulas, and nothing for your players to install. Any style works: American mah jongg (NMJL), Riichi, Hong Kong, house rules. Start a league, import your roster from a spreadsheet or paste a list of names, and you're ready for league night. Before the games begin, one tap builds the night's tables. Mahjboard remembers who's already played together and mixes each session's pairings for variety, or groups tables by skill level. Move anyone, sit a player out, reshuffle, or undo. Name a table "Cream bakelite set" and it stays that way week to week. During play, the session timer keeps everyone on time. Tell Mahjboard when the night starts, how long it runs, and how many games to aim for. It splits the time evenly, nudges you and your Apple Watch at each checkpoint, and keeps the countdown on your lock screen. Open the league near game time and it offers to start the clock for you. Scorekeeping is the easy part. Tap the evening's scores in, or let them come to you. Players can submit their own, and one submission can cover the whole table. Every score waits for your approval before it counts, and you can approve or reject it right from the notification. Mark who attended, and Mahjboard instantly ranks the cumulative leaderboard, so nobody has to wonder where they stand. Every league gets its own public page to share by text or QR code. Players just tap and the live board opens. No app to install, no account, no password, and nothing for them to pay. They can look themselves up and see their weekly scores all season long. One subscription covers your entire league. Make it yours. Add your logo, colors, and website once, and every league and leaderboard you run wears them. Save the standings as a branded image for Instagram or the group chat. If you host at a lounge, studio, or shop, the board points players right back to you. When a season wraps, archive it and start the next one. Run your Tuesday group, the club ladder, and the spring tournament side by side, all from the phone already in your pocket. If you can send a text, you can run a league. What’s new

Version 2026.10 · Updated October 13, 2026

Siri, home screen widgets, a printable score sheet, and easier seating at the door. # Run your league with Siri Say "Who's leading Mahjboard?" and Siri answers without opening the app. Name the league, player, or table right in the phrases: "Where's Linda sitting in Mahjboard?" or "Who's at table 2 in Mahjboard?" Ask who hasn't turned in a score, how tonight went, or how often a player has shown up. Then run the night by voice: "Log a score for Linda in Mahjboard," "Mark someone absent in Mahjboard," or "Start the Mahjboard timer." Siri asks you to confirm before it saves a score or changes anything you've already recorded. # Home screen widgets Two options and two sizes: League Card shows one league in its own colors, with the leader on the small size and the top three on the medium. The Next Step widget shows what's next on the Play tab, from attendance counts to the winner's name. Long-press a widget to pick the league, and tap it to open that league's Play tab. # Printable score sheet Download and print branded scoresheets for your league. At the bottom of Branding, download a blank score sheet for one table, with your logo, four game columns, and a How to Score panel. Pick Letter or a 5x7 table card, and print them on thick paper for the season. # Name your subs In Attendance, tap the sub button beside a player and type who's playing in their place. Seating and scoring show the sub's name with a small "Sub for" line. The name stays with that one week's score. It isn't added to your roster or shown on your public board, and the score still counts for the regular player. # Seat people as they arrive In the seating editor, choose Clear All Tables, then tap a name under Not Seated Yet to pick their table or mark them absent. Allow players to arrive and choose seats from tile draws or anything else you do, but you'll still track where everyone sat so they can submit scores as a table. # Logos get room to breathe If your logo already looks right on cream, the Playful and Elegant boards skip the tile behind it. A logo with a white background blends into share cards instead of showing a white box. Prefer to choose? In Branding, set Logo background to Auto, None, or a Color of your own. # A livelier Celebrate reel Scenes deal in like cards, with a slow push-in on the title and highlights and a staggered build-in on details and standings. The preview plays the same reel you'll export. Plus polish and reliability fixes throughout.
