About Otherwise

Wit that respects your intelligence. Wisdom with a wink. Most apps want all your attention. Otherwise wants about thirty seconds of it. One quote a day, curated by two old friends, philosophers in love with the absurdity of life. A micro-workout for your brain: epigrams, paraprosdokians, reframes, send-ups. A surprising admixture of deep wisdom and silly thoughts. No feed. No accounts. No ads. No tracking. One quote, one nudge, one twist to savour every day.

What’s new

Version 1.0.4 · Updated September 29, 2026

Otherwise comes to your Apple Watch and your home screen. The Watch app and the new widget show the same quote as the phone, one a day. Eight duplicate quotes removed, and quotes that resemble each other now sit further apart.
