About Lardr
Lardr is a recipe book for home cooks who want to own their recipes. Most recipe apps keep your collection locked inside the app. Lardr saves every recipe as a plain file — Markdown, Cooklang or text — in a folder you choose: iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or right on your phone. Your recipes survive uninstalls, sync through services you already trust, and stay readable without Lardr, years from now. — Capture anything — • Share to Lardr from Instagram, TikTok or any recipe website, and it pulls the recipe from the post's caption or the page, photo included • Paste a link and the recipe is read straight off the page • Scan a cookbook or magazine with your camera; text recognition runs on your phone • Type a recipe in seconds, with smart quantity and ingredient entry • Import from a Notion database — Plan, shop, cook — • A 7-day meal planner, with tonight's dinner up front and your week's nutrition at a glance • A shopping list that combines quantities across recipes and sorts itself by supermarket aisle • Your staples one tap away, plus a separate quick list for odds and ends • Cook Mode: full-screen steps, ingredient tick-off and multiple timers running at once • Scale any recipe to the number you're feeding • Siri and Shortcuts: ask "What's for dinner in Lardr?" or add to your shopping list by voice • Export any recipe as a typeset PDF to print or share — Lardr Pro (optional) — • Sync your recipes, planner and shopping list across your devices • Households: share one recipe library, one meal plan and one shopping list with another person, with ticks appearing on both phones as you shop • AI recipe import with no API key of your own: photos and links are sent through Lardr's server to Anthropic's Claude and come back as a clean, structured recipe Two plans: Individual, and Household for two people. Lardr Pro is an auto-renewing monthly subscription, charged to your Apple ID. It renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. — Yours, either way — Everything that was free stays free. Without a subscription there's no account and no sign-in. If you'd rather use your own Anthropic API key, AI imports go straight from your phone to Anthropic. Whatever you choose, your recipes are plain files in a folder you own. What’s new
Version 1.6.3 · Updated October 17, 2026
Drag dinners between days, a smoother Cook Mode, and nutrition estimates. • Plan your week by dragging. Hold a dinner on the Planner and drop it on another day — the day lights up as you go, and the two swap. • Cook Mode follows your finger. Drag the line between Ingredients and Method and the method slides with you. • Estimate nutrition. A recipe with no nutrition info can have its calories, protein, carbs and fat estimated from the ingredients, marked as an estimate (Lardr Pro or your own Anthropic key). Your week's nutrition on the Planner has a new look too. • Scan a list. Photograph a handwritten shopping list and its items land on your list, sorted by aisle. • Quicker adding. Your common items now sit under + → Add an item. Add several things in a row, and star the ones you buy often. • Smarter imports. Lardr no longer guesses a cooking time, marks a guessed serving size "Estimated", and on iPhones with Apple Intelligence reads free photo imports with Apple's on-device model. Sharing from Instagram works with more posts. • Plus: the Planner starts at today, Send to planner lets you pick the day, and Settings is a tap away on every tab.
