Wallpaper Roll Calculator

Wallpapering a room and stuck on how many rolls to buy? Enter your wall run, wall height, doors and windows, then the roll width and length printed on the label. You get one number back: exactly how many rolls to buy, waste margin already included. Most roll calculators divide wall area by roll area. That is not how wallpaper is hung. Every strip has to be cut to full wall height, only a whole number of strips fits in a roll, and a patterned paper forces each strip to be cut up to the next repeat — which can throw away most of a metre on every single strip. This app counts strips, not square metres, and shows you the arithmetic line by line so you can check it before you pay. WHAT YOU GET - One number to take to the shop: the exact roll count, waste buffer included - Pattern-repeat math that florals, stripes and geometrics actually need — each strip snapped up to the next repeat - A colour-coded strip layout diagram showing which roll covers which part of the wall - Every step shown: gross area, doors and windows deducted, strips per roll, base rolls, waste added - Whole-renovation totals — group rooms into projects and see total rolls and net area at a glance - A reference tab with standard roll sizes, pattern match types, waste percentages and a step-by-step hanging checklist PERFECT FOR - First-time DIY decorators papering a single feature wall - Homeowners redoing a whole room, bedroom or hallway - Decorators and paperhangers pricing up a client job - Renovators working out materials room by room WHY NOT JUST USE THE CALCULATOR ON THE SHOP WEBSITE? Because it almost always divides area by area. It does not know that your ceiling is 2.6 m and your roll is 10 m, so you get four usable strips and not 3.8. It does not know that a 64 cm repeat adds waste to every drop. That is how people end up one roll short, go back a month later, and find the batch is gone and the new dye lot does not match. Counting strips is the only way to get this right, and that is what this app does. PRIVACY Everything is calculated and saved on your iPhone. No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking, and no internet connection needed after install. FULL ACCESS Full access unlocks the complete calculator: pattern-repeat and waste calculations, the strip layout diagram, unlimited rooms, and saved projects with whole-renovation totals. Choose a weekly plan, a yearly plan, or a one-time lifetime purchase — no free trial, and a subscription can be cancelled any time in your Apple account settings. Dimensions are entered in metres. The reference tab lists UK/EU, US double-roll, wide and paste-the-wall roll sizes so you can match whatever is on your label. Results are an estimate — always confirm with your supplier, and buy every roll from the same batch so the colour matches. Measure your first wall now: type in the perimeter, the height, how many doors and windows, and see your roll count before you leave for the shop.
