NINE MODES, ONE ARROW • BASIC — Just the wind. Direction, speed, the relative arrow. Nothing else. • FLIGHT — Headwind and crosswind components for any runway. METAR plus winds aloft, density altitude, Zulu time, heading bug. • HUNTING — Scent-direction compass, sunrise countdown, moon phase, still-air indicator, wind-shift alerts. • BURNING — Fire-spread direction, gust delta, relative humidity and temperature, a tap-to-copy dispatch radio call, and a red banner when conditions move out of prescription. • SAILING — Apparent wind when you're moving, Beaufort force, point of sail, veer/back detector. • DRONE — Go / Caution / No-Go from your aircraft's wind and gust limits. Airport METARs and winds-aloft forecasts come from the FAA's aviationweather.gov. Barometric pressure reads from your iPhone's built-in altimeter. Everything is true-referenced, not magnetic.
