About ScooterCheck

Buying a used e-scooter? Stand next to it and tap Scan. ScooterCheck reads the battery, motor, controller and fault codes off the scooter over Bluetooth and tells you to buy it, look closer, or walk away: a 0 to 100 score and a ranked list of findings. Free, paid for by a short ad while the report is prepared. No subscription, no account. Tap "See a sample report" to see a full inspection first. WHAT IT FINDS A tired battery: real capacity against the factory spec, with a rough replacement cost to negotiate with. Cells that have drifted apart, the fault that passes every pack-level check and then cuts out under load. A wound-back odometer, where battery wear and mileage disagree. Demo-mode firmware, and speed caps that can never be raised again. Plus fault codes in plain English, pack voltage and temperature, motor and controller heat, age and distance ridden. Every deduction shows the reading behind it. A report built on too few answers will not call a scooter good, and when too little could be read to judge it fairly, it says Not rated instead of guessing. SUPPORTED Xiaomi M365, Pro, Pro 2, 1S, Lite. MiniRobot, and the scooters built on it: 5th Wheel ES09, Cunfon RS300 and RS500, MS Energy Mentor 500. Ninebot ES1 to ES4. Segway-Ninebot MAX G30, G2 and the current generation (ZT3 Pro, E2 Pro, E3, F3, Max G3). E-Wheels. KingSong. Navee ST3. Minimotors: Dualtron, VSETT, Kaabo, Apollo Phantom. Swagtron Swagger 5. VMAX VX2. Hiboy S2, Pure Electric Air, Apollo City, VMAX connect. isinwheel, iScooter, Circooter, Kugoo, Zamelux, 5th Wheel ES16b. EVERCROSS, HALO ROVER, KuKirin, Mega Motion. Xiaomi's newest models, newer E-Wheels and NIU KQi are recognised, but keep their data encrypted or behind the maker's servers. The app says so rather than spinning. READS ONLY ScooterCheck reads; it never reconfigures. On Xiaomi and newer Ninebot, reading means completing the scooter's own pairing handshake: the app says so first, and one button press restores the owner's pairing. No account, and the ad only tracks you if you allow it when asked. After your first report, you are also asked once whether inspections may be sent back to help support more scooters.

What’s new

Version 1.5 · Updated October 22, 2026

Segway-Ninebot connects on more phones On phones whose Bluetooth connection carries only short messages, the scooter's pairing handshake is now sent in pieces, as the scooter expects. Inspections that used to stop at the handshake can now get through. Not rated, instead of a misleading score When too little of a scooter can be read to judge it fairly, the report now says Not rated and shows what it did read. A score now needs at least two parts of the scooter checked. Fairer scores A Navee that doesn't send its battery readings, and the Xiaomi Essential's smaller battery, no longer cost points the scooter didn't earn. On Hiboy, Pure Electric and similar scooters, an odometer that reads zero no longer costs points; the report asks you to check it with the seller. More in the report Navee scooters now report their speed limit. A reading the app took but couldn't score now appears in the breakdown with the reason. More scooters found The MS Energy Mentor 500, the Cunfon RS500 and the 5th Wheel ES16b now show up in the scan.
