About Digestible History
American History, made easy! Digestible History is a comprehensive American history app that covers every president, state, timeline from colonization to today, and thousands of places to explore across the country. It all comes together in clear, easy-to-digest pieces that give you the essentials without the extra stuff, with links to dive deeper whenever something piques your interest. US Presidents All 45 presidents, complete with biographies, accomplishments, and an interactive map of landmarks tied to each president's life. Each president gets their own timeline — over 600 events across all 47 terms — from George Washington to today. US States All 50 states plus Washington D.C., each with a state history, symbols, milestones, and fun facts presented as over 900 beautifully illustrated flashcards. Look up your home state or discover somewhere new. A Brief History Nearly 600 events spanning the full arc of American history — from early exploration to the modern era. Organized by era and presented as flippable flashcards, each one features a historical image and a quick summary of what happened and why it mattered. Tap any card for a deeper dive. The Front Page Get a glimpse into the past with real historic newspaper front pages from the Library of Congress, pulled from this exact date in history—20, 30, 40, 50, 75, and 100 years ago. A new set is available every day. Landmarks Hub Discover 5,000+ historic sites across the country on an interactive map, including National Parks, Presidential landmarks, State Parks, and a Road Trip collection of over 1,400 roadside attractions, natural wonders, historic sites, and hidden gems. You can filter by president, state, or category and open any location directly in Maps. Further Education A hand-picked collection of books, documentaries, and resources to help you go deeper on the topics you love most. If you’re a history buff, a student, a traveler dreaming up your next adventure, or just someone who wants to really understand the story of our country, Digestible History is for you. American history, in small, easy-to-digest pieces. Note: Digestible History uses a warm parchment aesthetic inspired by historical documents. Dark mode is not currently supported but is planned for a future update.
What’s new
Version 1.0.2 · Updated June 30, 2026
- Removed a book recommendation that had errantly made its way into the list. The book is not yet released and I put it in the wrong spreadsheet on my computer, which is how it got added to the app. An audit of other resources in the "Further Education" hub was done to ensure all recommendations are accurate for media I have personally consumed and recommend. - minor bug fixes
