About Still - No Contact Journal

Still is a private companion for one of the hardest things you can do: staying no-contact after a relationship ends. It won't tell you everything is going to be fine. It will help you get through today, and especially through the moment when you want to reach out. FEELING THE PULL When the urge to text or call hits, one tap takes you to a minute of guided breathing, with optional calming music. Urges peak and pass. Afterwards you can write the message you won't send, safely, where it stays with you. YOUR STREAK AND YOUR JOURNEY See your days of no-contact, how far it is to the next milestone, and which of six stages you are in, from the first days through the hardest stretch to the other side. If you do reach out, the streak resets without erasing how far you have come. A PRIVATE JOURNAL Write in the way the moment needs: a letter you won't send, the text you're not going to type, something unfiltered, something kind to yourself, or plain writing. Entries stay blurred until you tap them. DAILY INSIGHTS AND LEARNING A short, honest insight each day, and a library of articles grouped by where you are in the journey: attachment, trauma bonding, grief, rumination, urges, and what to expect next. Plus books, podcasts and episodes for when you want to go deeper. CHECK-INS THAT TAKE TEN SECONDS Tap a number for mood, sleep and energy. Progress shows what has changed over 7, 14 or 30 days in plain words and simple trend lines. SMALL THINGS FOR YOURSELF A daily checklist of your own choosing: moved my body, spent time outside, reached out to someone I care about. PRIVACY, COMPLETELY - No account, no sign-up, no servers that hold your data. - Your journal, check-ins and no-contact dates are encrypted with AES-256 on your iPhone. The key is kept in the Keychain. - Nothing from Still goes into iCloud or computer backups. - Optional app lock with Face ID or a 6-digit PIN. - No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. The only thing the app fetches from the internet is the public articles and insights. IF YOU CHANGE OR LOSE YOUR PHONE Export an encrypted backup file whenever you like. Open it on a new phone by scanning a key from the old one, or with an optional 12-word recovery phrase that only you have. Without one of those, nobody can open your data, including us. FREE, WITHOUT ADS Every feature is free for everyone. If Still helps you, you can leave an optional tip in the app. Tips unlock nothing. LIGHT AND DARK Follows your phone, or choose light or dark yourself. Still is not therapy and not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line. Still does not know who you are. It cannot.

What’s new

Version 0.9.9 · Updated October 12, 2026

This is a big update. Still has been redesigned around the moments that matter most. NEW - Feeling the pull: one tap to a minute of guided breathing when you want to reach out, with optional calming music. Then write the text you won't send. - Your journey: see which of six stages you are in, what comes next, and how far it is to the next milestone. - A new Today: check in on your mood with one tap, and tick off the small things you did for yourself. - Progress in plain words: what has changed in your mood, sleep and energy over 7, 14 or 30 days. - Learn by stage: articles grouped by where you are, with eight new ones for the later stages. - Recovery phrase: optional 12 words that open a backup file on a new phone, if the old one is lost. - Appearance: follow your phone, or choose light or dark. Dark mode now covers every screen. - Works on iPad and in landscape. PRIVACY - Check-ins, your self-focus list and your no-contact dates are now encrypted too, not only the journal. - Nothing from Still is in iCloud or computer backups any more. Your data and its key stay on your phone. To move to a new phone, use Settings > Move to a new device. - App lock: a 6-digit PIN, a wait after wrong attempts, and your phone's passcode is never accepted in its place. ALSO - The journal asks before closing unsaved text. - Many fixes and accessibility improvements, including larger tap targets. Your existing journal, check-ins and streak are kept when you update.
