About Note Buddies
NoteBuddies makes music theory stick. Whether you're a beginner learning to read notes or a student preparing for an exam, NoteBuddies turns music fundamentals into quick, focused practice sessions you can fit into any day. RHYTHM Drill whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, dotted rhythms, rests, ties, and triplets. Flip each card to reveal the beat value and name, or start a timed quiz to work through the full deck until every card is answered correctly. NOTES Read treble and bass clef notes on a real staff. Filter to treble, bass, or both clefs. Tap the card to reveal the note name, then test yourself against the clock in quiz mode. MUSIC TERMS From forte to fermata, master the Italian terms and symbols every musician needs to know. Filter by dynamics, tempo, articulation, or notation, then quiz yourself until the whole category is locked in. QUIZ MODE Every section has a built-in quiz. Cards you answer correctly are retired; cards you miss go back to the end of the queue. A live timer keeps you honest. Finish the deck and see your final time.

Choose your notes Only know Middle C and D so far? On the Notes tab, tap the sliders button and pick exactly the notes you want to practice, right on a real treble or bass staff. Quizzes use only the notes you pick, and your choice is remembered next time. Try again until you get it A wrong answer in a Notes quiz no longer skips the card. You'll see "Not quite — try again!", the letter you tried is marked, and you keep going until you find the right note. Shuffle and back again Shuffled the cards? Tap In Order to put them back the way they started, on every tab. A fairer quiz timer The timer now counts only the time you spend in the quiz. It pauses when you leave the app or switch tabs. Better VoiceOver support Rhythm cards now read the full lesson aloud when revealed: the name, the beat count and the explanation. Cards no longer give away the answer before you flip them. Polish and fixes Clearer tab titles: Rhythm, Note Names, and Music Terms. Quizzes can no longer be passed by peeking at the answer. Fixed a sad "no cards" message that could appear behind the celebration screen after finishing a quiz.
